They say our bikes take 5,000 miles to break in, but after I recently hit 10,000 it seems to really rev a lot easier and smoother. YMMV . |

It was the 5k mark for both my Uly and Cyclone...MPG and revs got much better... |

Mine seemed to level out about 7000 miles. I noticed a gradual reduction in fan run time up until about that point (this was way before the introduction of the comfort kit). |

Just out of curiosity, were you using synthetic or dyno oil? |

About the same here. Dino to ~5100 miles and synth since. |

Hmmm, interesting. I had a theory that syn using bikes might take longer to break in than dyno bikes but you did exactly what I would recommend and it still took longer. You must have gotten a tight one which will only last longer! A little off subject but I was amazed to learn that F1 racing engines won't even turn over until they heat the oil and coolant up so they grow enough to unsieze themselves. That's as good as it gets! |

don't get me wrong - there was a noticeable improvement after 5,000, but after 9,000 or so (I have just over 10 now) it really smoothed out. |

I have 8000 now, and the bike seems to get better and better all the time. Noticed a difference at 5000, but at about 6500, bike really started to run better and stronger all the way around. MPG is up to 45 on average if not abused! |

My '07 Uly really started behaving better after 10K miles. However, I also think when I took it in for the 10K service they reflashed the ECM, which I accredit to a lot of that. |

""I took it in for the 10K service they reflashed the ECM, which I accredit to a lot of that."" This is the first time I have ever heard of an '07 re-flash. I need to look into that. . |

Depends on when things were done. There have been some updates to the ECM since the '07 was released. |
