Anyone know what the factory 100.00 an hour computer will find wrong with a bike that Spyware won't? I have a bad surging problem that i haven't been able to fix with spyware and I'm about to blow a bunch of money to get it looked at. Any help would be appreciated. I don't wan't to put out a bunch of money only to be told they couldn't find anything. |

They will probably end up shotgunning parts trying to find a fix. Is your bike still under warranty? Did you start a thread explaining your issue to see if someone on the forum could help you? |

Try to explain the issues here on the board to get some input. So many on the board have seen so much that we can possibly point you in the right direction to avoid needless spending. Hemicbx |

What "spyware" are you using. Have you done any data logging? What did you find? What rpm does the bike surge? |

dont spend the money at the dealership. The issue is just fuel/timing and a couple table zones. If you ask around here or two other forums you can get free help to fix it yourself. Some of US even log into your computer and do the changes for you. Some will reset your eeprom to new levels to help and return that file back to you. No cost. Remote fixing things is No cost like others charge to look at an issue. You may need to just speak to a person whom knows the ECM kinda well. Now. get a history of the bike all mods and what you have done to it. Mike |

"The issue is just fuel/timing and a couple table zones. " It may be something mechanical, like leaking intake seals, faulty sensor, or dirty injectors for instance. |

Blake is very correct also. check seals on the intake, and check the air temp sensor in the air box. they get pretty dirty and read wild throwing off the mixture. To clean that one use dish soap.(lightly) and a soft paint brush. rinse with clean water on the brush. also make sure the O2 sensor is clean and fresh as well as a temp sensor is accurate that can be verified on a few tools with a temp gun to see they are telling you aprox the same temps. the injectors you could run a little (seafoam through it a couple times to see if it improves. thats pretty good stuff. If you have not done a breather tubes catch can reroute your intake path will be pretty built up with gunk. take the time to clean that the best you can. best to remove it and clean then just re-install with fresh seals with a little blue hylomar racing sealer to be sure it doesn't develop a leak. tighten evenly one side then the other back and fourth till tight to ensure a even pressure is on the seal. you have a few other issues to look at like valve seal and spring rate pressures or ect. For compression which take special tools. other than that its the tables and maps. |
