Eric, if you have to pass through a day early, no biggie. I'm off 12th-19th, so I can show you to my Dad's, feed ya, escort you outa town, and whatever else, then do the same for Frank on the 13th. If you in town on the 11th, though, I'll be at work at 3 PM central until 11 or so. |

I, too, am getting closer to ready. I put about 600 miles on my bike this last week (I was on vacation to save my sanity). I broke my exhaust a couple times and finally got a sturdy hangar designed and welded up on the Force so it shouldn't shake itself apart the way the last one did. I did find a tear in my belt today, so I'm on the hunt for a long XB belt, which is I really need anyway, but if I don't find one, I know where I can get a stocker to run the trip. Still need tires and pads too. Other'n that, good to go! Lol |

Eric and Jaci, Not sure of your Austin plans, but my wife and I would like to let you know that you're welcome to stay with us for a night or two, either before or after the 2 Step. Our house isn't in the really "cool" part of Austin (we're kinda north-central suburbia), but if you were planning several days here, a night or two with friends would save some money. The place isn't roomy, but it's home! I can also recommend some good hotels/motels that are in the "cool" areas, if you like. Let me know... HellBuelly J P.S. Must at least tolerate a chihuahua and a 4-year-old boy! |

Now, Jay, be nice to the poor northern folks. Everybody can't be lucky enough to live in Texas! Bluebonnets are really popping out by the ranchito right about now. Why don't you take a ride and see them for yourself? rt |

Well we've got camus lilies popping up that look just the same from a distance. Don't have the cactus that I see in the background there, though. Everyone is being so darn hospitable. Frank and Lynn, we look forward to sharing a drink at your hacienda on Tuesday the 11th. Then down to barbie with Ross and family in Amarillo on the 12th. Vacating Amarillo on the 13th, we'll have two days to get to Leakey. Frank and Ross can reel us in. After the weekend, we'll be heading for Austin and would be pleased to spend time at the Howze house. (I just had to fit that in.) Four year olds, we're good with. I've got some magic tricks to teach the little guy if you've got some gasoline in a bucket and an extension cord, preferably with a 220volt plug on one end. The chihuahua leaves me searching for something politically uncorrect about Texas and Mexicans but I'd get my ass kicked. |

Well, I'm officially hosed for this trip. I really don't want to talk about it for now. I'm pretty pissed. So much for planning ahead. I even have a new car in the works for the trip.. I need beer..... out of that too right now. Brad |

I've settled down a bit... Between work (big network changes), church (they scheduled another Sunday of our Brass group), there is no way I can make the timing work. I'd need to be in two places at one time.. Trust me guys, I'll be there in spirit. After the Saturday network crap and the Sunday playing session, I'll go for a long ride and pretend I'm surrounded by a bunch of the coolest bikes ever made. It won't be the same but it will have to do.. I was actually looking forward to the solo drive down in the new Escape (maybe sign the papers today). Brad |

Just 21 days from now, I expect to be sitting 'round a campfire, stuffed with victuals and slightly sloshed, trading stories with a bunch 'o cool folks. Anybody else...? Jay P.S. Oh CRAP! I'd better get busy. My bike makes Frank's look like it just rolled brand-new off the assembly line!

The Nazgul lives... I'm looking forward to this event! Shined up the S2 yesterday, changed the oil and took a little ride. Today it'll be the S1. I'm planning on bringing them both to Leakey, on a trailer, natch, so we'll have a spare and a sag wagon. rt |

I may trailer all the way due to a time crunch... Ross, I may not be able to spend the night at you Dad's place either. I will have to motor right through. My truck needs to go into the shop next week as well as my trailer. |

Only 14 days...WooHoo! In the immortal words of Sgt. Skinner, "Man, I am woefully unprepared for this event". But don't worry, I work best under pressure! Here's another pic from a previous Leakey outing;
Everybody got their cabin/piece of ground reserved? I'll see y'all there. I can't wait! HBJ |

That is a great looking bike, Jay! BTW. Jay, can you get me the speedo reset cable nut, part number 7518 (knurled nut.) Mine evacced ages ago and my dealer says it can only be replaced by buying a whole new cable assembly, while threads on the Badweb say otherwise. Jaci and I are resolved to each get a matching souvenir of Texas. We think we've found it: http://www.ratpakrecordsamerica.com/erikbuell.cfm We reserve the right to change our mind if we sober up or run out of time. (Message edited by Sportyeric on May 01, 2010) |
