I started the bike, got about one block away then noticed the oil light was on... It went off, came back on, went off and on a few more times. Stopped at a gas station, turned off bike. Verified oil was at proper level (3/4 of dip stick sweet spot covered)... Replaced dip stick and started the bike again. Light remained on for about 5 seconds of running then stayed off for the rest of the short evening ride. What could cause this? |

Likely a pressure sensor switch / wiring problem. Put on a pressure gauge (use the same hole as the pressure sending switch?) and see if it's the correct pressure at rpm. This way you'll confirm if you have a lubrication problem. |

Had a similar situation w/one of my tubers, right after I had washed it. Turned out that in my cleaning zeal I had pulled the wire off of the oil pressure switch, and the wire was making intermittent contact. Installed the wire properly, and the problem went away. Dave |
