How fast does the wind have to blow to knock over a parked XBR. I live in northern Nevada, today there are 40-50mph winds with 65-75mph gusts. I'm sitting here at work stressed about going to the parking lot to find my bike on its side. | ||

Try to park so the wind blows it onto the stand or so that it tries to back the bike up (nose into the wind) which forces the stand to stay extended. Good luck, hope it makes it through the day. | ||

For right now it's pointed into the wind but it keeps changing directions. Has anyone ever had one blow over? | ||

I have heard of several that blew over but in most cases, the bike had a cover to act like a drag chute. | ||

Just leave the sidestand in if you intend to park it a windy location and I bet it will never blown over. | ||

Yep it can blow over, it has happened to Court.  If possible, secure it to a building or get it inside. Even if it fell, it shouldn't be a big deal. | ||

If you can't park it inside, park it next to a wall. The wind won't be near as strong there, and protected completely at least from one side. | ||

DO NOT COVER if you anticipate ANY wind! My first "crash" was when my bike crashed without waiting for me. It was lying there on its side with the bottom of the cover OPEN to the wind like a sail - filling up with wind-blown rain. Made me really grumpy, it did! | ||

I had to park mine in the wind while visiting a friend. Mid day, around 30 mph wind. Parked it right between two cars. If its a parking lot full of other employees cars, see if you can park between their cars. | ||

The parking situation is at a military base in the high desert, no dirt for stakes, no light poles to tie to, no buildings or trees to block wind. Thought about using a couple ratcheting straps to tie up to some friends trucks. Ended up leaving it in the garage and getting a ride today. Winds supposed to be much stronger today. Thanks for all the input guys. | ||

I parked mine next to my Friends house when really windy when leaving for a Vikings game 2nd day I had the bike. Came home to find it laying on its side! I was fortunate enough that it landed mostly in the grass but did scar up my swing arm a bit | ||

Is there a motorcycle parking area? If so take a battery powered drill and install a D-ring near the edge of the area in the pavement or concrete. Seal the holes with epoxy. Be ready to have to put a new one in the next day. Someone may use your spot. Look for a parking curb and tie down to it. My dirt bike never blew over in the dessert. 60+ mph winds and no tie-downs. | ||

damn, i'd be more concerned about riding in wind that hard than parking in it. i bet a 60mph gust hittin you broadside could check you out. just drop it on its side when you get off and you wont have to worry bout the wind knockin it down. | ||

Someone may use your spot." Why not take that idea to the base CO? 1. It's not too expensive, 2. It might help eliminate some theft/vandalism, and 3. You can't be the only guy there with the same problem. It would be pretty cool if you were the one that solved it for everybody. My Uly blew over due to the cover, in probably 40mph gusts. I was gone for the weekend, but some strangers who appreciate fastness stood it back up! Well that put the nail in the coffin- I ordered a Geza. Will report when arrives. | ||

Its_a_buell- If I waited for a day that it wasn't windy, I'd almost never be able to ride. Besides, you just get used to it. |
