What the hell am I doing here anyway? Bob, you know all this stuff. What am I doing in that picture? A guy like me has no business poking around inside of an engine like that. I can't be trusted with that sort of responsibility. What were you thinking, letting me alone with tools like that? Gawd, I love Brand "T". BTW, I bought an accessory plug for the Sprint RS and a Gerbing electric jacket liner for me last week. Electric gloves are next. I will NOT be cold next fall. |

Well Ray, It looks as if you were scraping gasket material off the case (with a screw driver!, Bad Boy). It also looks as though you were wearing your new tennies. Bad boy again as you have you sneaker positioned in a known drip zone. Your also scraping material and it's falling into your primary case. (smooth) Other than that Ray, you were looking like the #1 mechanic in Ben Bostrom's Stable. Your right about the brand "T" stuff. 20.000 miles on the ST , 5000 on the Speed 3 and one fork seal is the only thing wrong. (I never check the oil! "My Bad" These Bikes wont help your mechanical abilities cause you don't have too work on them. (NOCKING ON WOOD) Hey Ray when can I pay for and pick up that stand. If you want to bring it over I can show you our new traveling Hoopty. In The Rain Forest, Bob |

Ray, go for the gloves, it's a must! Chris and I both have the jacket liner, and gloves and don't regret them at all. I have to replace my gloves (left one is toast from the spill I took) so let me know the cost when you get yours. Gerbing is really good about fixing or replacing the product as long as it is within the first year. I had a hole in one of the gloves after 9 months they fixed them and had them right back to me. Are you going into the place in Union? Bob, I am alittle sore today. The thumb felt really good yesterday and now today it is stiff! Shit! Oh well, I will still make it! A wennie I am not! Chris fixed an exhaust leak on the SV last night so could not get out and about, but will hit the back roads to St. Helens this afternoon. How was your ride yesterday, did you go to Packwood? Galen, I sure wish you all the luck in the world getting Betty back on the road. SPLASH just won't be the same without you! Loni |

Matt- I did not know you were a poet! That is awesome, I am sure Galen is feeling the love! Galen- won't they let you borrow the tool you need since they f'd up and didn't order in a timely fashion? Is there a rent option? Do they rent out their tools? I probably sound like a dumb girl here and I am sure you have probably thought about all this already yourself. This is just plain not fair! Bob, Deb, Matt, Firemanjim- See you all on Thursday! (that is just 4 days away - but who is counting?) Kimberlie |

Loni: Gerbing electric gloves are $139.00 + P&P (P&P is something I learned on the UK based Triumph BBS. It means Postage and Packing.) You're right, Gerbing is a great product. I spent a few extra $$'s and got a 2 way thermostat so I can run the liner and gloves at different wattages if I need to. This sounds silly in July, but I'm kind of looking forward to November.

Ray, why pay the postage when you could just ride down to the place in Union, WA? Chris and I drove up there in Dec one year and picked up all our stuff. Kinda a wierd place, family owned, and ran. Really nice folks. Call them and see if you can just drop in. Kim, I will be calling you here in a few mins. Needs to yak at ya about the BBQ. Just got home from another 30 mile ride towards Mt. Helens. Had to heat the oil up so that the Hubby can change it. I do want to get another few miles in today. Loni |

Loni: I did that very thing and when it's time to buy a pair of gloves I'll do it again. The best part of the trip was reading the sign on the six foot tall chain link fence that said "Beware of Guard Dog" while I was on one knee and Ace the German Shepard guard dog had his face buried in my left armpit while I was scratching him hard enough to make a winter’s worth of old growth fur fly to the four corners of the property. Some guard dog he is, he wasn't even guarding his dignity. After my visit with Ace I had an hour long conversation with Dotty Gerbing and I now know everything there is to know about electric clothing in general and Gerbing’s Inc. in particular. As a result, I had a great ride along Hood Cannel, I have a higher regard for Gerbing products than before, I have a new heated jacket liner, and doggie dandruff under my fingernails. I’m telling ya Loni, life just doesn’t get much better than this. |

OK, here's what it is; tool did not arrive today. I am accepting the FACT that I am not riding SPLASH this year. I would be in a state of high uptightness to the point of certain implosion if I didn't just go with it. Ah but there is more to this weekend than riding, and that I don't have to miss! So's I'll be seeing you collection of multi-national misfits soon. And I'll have the 'special seasoning' I'd promised the Northern Contingent . Eh! So no worries that I'll get my buell up and at 'em by sept. and the boarder raid! So untill then, this is me and the family at home, relaxing after 'one of them days'! sooner, Galen } |

Eric: If you’re willing to travel, check Cycle Trader dot com. I found my brand new Sprint RS in Oakland, California. I don't know much about I-90 Supersports but Cycle Mart in Lacey just hates to come down on the price. I paid $7,000 for a bike that had a MSRP of 9,500 minus a $1,000 Triumph rebate. My wife and I took a three day / two night trip to the Bay area and spent about $250 doing it. Pretty good deal, overall. |

Erich, I don't really know which dealer is the best to purchase from but have had good luck with Cycle Mart in Oly. Debbie bought her speed 3 from I-90 motorsports and they did give her a deal. I bought both of mine from Portland Motorcycle Co. Which model are you looking at? In The Rain Forest, Bob
