I'm going to take my R in for the 620 mile service on 05/05 (the earliest they could fit it in)... by then it'll have about 850 miles showing..which hopefully won't be a problem. Unfortunately the guys I have spoken to at the dealer have no idea what the stator harness update is, they also don't know what the "california can" is (which is a shame as since the weather got better I am laving fuel drip issues) and (as I posted previously) they were convinced that the 1125R has (a) a Harley motor (!)and (b) first servive at 1000 miles. On top of the usual stuff I have the following issues: LFL light comes on immediately after CT Cold goes off EM light sometimes come on with it LFL System Error Front 02 System Error EM light comes on randomly (but that's the O2 sensor error) I don't think there's anything else - obviously my confidence in the dealer is quite low but to be fair to them I have yet to speak to the guy there that "knows about Buells" as he's always out when I visit.. Should be a fun and interesting trip to the dealer LOL |

Jules - LFL on when COLD stops flashing - replace the IC with newer one - You should find you have SW version 6.1 in the IC, you need 6.2. Call Customer Service and get a case number. Z |

Thanks Zac, I figured that was the case - not sure if the customer service approach will work for me in the UK, but I will definately get my point across at the dealership! |

Can the 2008s get the free cluster fix? I get the low fuel light occasionally and some cluster fogging... I could live with it but wouldn't mind the gear indicator! |

If you're still under warranty then yes - someone one here has had it done already. Mentioning/showing them the fogging is the key |

Nice... gotta make a call then. Bought it this past October so I wanna get whatever done while I can! anything else I should mention? I have the dealer installed side panels but I spaced them myself as soon as I saw a "power bulge" forming". |

Zac, my '09R is running the latest flash and had its charging harness work done a couple of weeks back. I see you mentioned a 6.2 S/W version above. Mine has had SW 6.1, CAL 1.0 since new and it still shows that. I have ZERO issues with the bike, so is 6.2 something I should be getting? Hope I didn't just jinx things Mike |

my daler said they wouldnt beable to get the approval from hd for just fogging as they are not a sealed unit mine was so bad that you couldnt make out the numbers form 9000 rpm and up I showed them and was flat out told to "leave it in the sun for a couple hours and it will go away, if the face or the glass gets stained come back and then we have a leg to stand on with Harrley." |

I had an issue with my bike throwing codes and lighting the LFL and CEL shortly after start-up. I was told by a trusted source that there was a bug in SW 6.1 and 7.0 that is the cause for the LFL and CEL when IC sees Operating Temp, eg COLD stops flashing. The solution is a new IC with Rev 6.2 for 08-09 and 7.1 for 2010 models. 2010 models have a different IC due to flasher driver differences. My issue was different, the LFL and CEL were on BEFORE reaching OpTemp, the fix being a new fuel pump/sensor kit. Zack (Message edited by zac4mac on April 24, 2010) |

Got it - Thanks Zack. If mine ever displays any of these indicator problems, I'll come armed with info. I've found that's quite helpful when dealing with H-D dealerships, even good ones like the one I use. Mike |

My issue was different, the LFL and CEL were on BEFORE reaching OpTemp, the fix being a new fuel pump/sensor kit. Mine has been doing this since the day I bought it. Do you know if the new pump is updated or is it just another one like I already have. It doesnt really bother me but if there is a fix for it I guess I should have it done before its out of warrantee. |

I'm not aware of any changes to the pump but the low-fuel sensor is attached to the pump. The sensor was my problem. It's a thermistor and the resistance changed(drifted) out of spec and sent faulty data to the IC The only solution is replace pump/sensor. The issue with the IC is old firmware had the IC continuing to poll sensors after shut-down. The IC would see a faulty reading and store it, flashing the CEL when all sensors update upon reaching OpTemp. Solution there is an IC with current(6.2 and 7.1) firmware since HD ensured no easy way to flash the IC, just the ECM. Z |
