Press Release: for immediate publication Date: 7/01/03 Subject: Ride To Work Day 2003 RIDERS REV UP TO LEAD THE 12TH ANNUAL RIDE-TO-WORK DAY. This year's annual Ride to Work Day event takes place on Wednesday, July 16th. Motorcycle riding participants include tens of thousands of employees and workers at companies, government agencies and hundreds of motorcycle rider groups. Riding to work on this day demonstrates to the public and to all officials that motorcycling is more than a stimulating and invigorating recreation. For many people, riding is a socially responsible form of personal transportation that saves energy, reduces congestion, adds parking spaces, helps the environment and provides a broad range of other public benefits. Ride to Work Day dramatically shows that motorcyclists come from all walks of life, work in all occupations, and range in age from teenagers to grandparents. The American Motorcyclist Association and many other worldwide rider organizations have actively encouraged all motorcyclists to ride their cycles to work on the third Wednesday in July each year to show that motorcycling is a social good. Global participation in the yearly demonstration is estimated to be several million riders. Today there are over two hundred and twenty million cars and light trucks crowding American roads and seven million registered motorcycles. If more motorcycles become a regular part of the transportation mix, it will help make urban parking easier and traffic will flow better, according to Ride to Work, a non-profit advocacy organization. Studies have shown that urban motorcyclists reach their destinations faster and are more invigorated and refreshed upon arrival than those using automobiles. In advanced countries like Japan, Germany, and England the advantages of motorcycling for transportation are widely appreciated. In the United States, a smaller percentage of the seven million registered cycles are used for everyday transportation and commuting. On the year's 12th annual Ride to Work Day, motorcyclists worldwide seek: - Employer recognition and support for motorcycling - Greater public and government awareness of the beneficial values of motorcycling For more information about Ride to Work Day visit www.ridetowork.org or call 218.722.9806. Keith, Welcome home! Well, there isn't much that has to get back together. I could ride it after I spend about .55 cents. I think I'm just going to take the valve caps off and replace everything else. lol I'm not sure on the time frame but it looks like about 3 weeks? I'm trying no to get to excited yet. Feel like taking a trip to Waterloo sometime next week? Well as I was typing this I believe that the S2 was SOLD. Bluzm2 will be coming to pick it up on Friday. Now I have to get the XB ball rolling. I'll call you later, might have to get down there and buy you a Welcome Home Lunch. By the way how was it? Talk atcha later. Ben |

kcbill... ...has the swelling gone down??? the joe rocket vest works great... i bet yours does too... but the swelling of the gel strips looks a bit odd on yours... but i bet your vest will last longer than mine before it has to be re-wet... as i think mine will dry out due to evaporation quicker than yours... as the gel is less dense, and thinner layered. once again led down the keep up with the buellers path!! first the race kit to be as loud as everyone else... now a vest to be as cool as kcbill!!! let me know how the intercom works out... i have an autocom on my bmw and am happy with it... other than sharon took the mic and speakers out of her helmet when she did the rider's edge course. another reason to get the schuberth helmet... an upgrade for me... and the flip up hjc with the mic and speakers passed down to sharon for bmw rides. now if i had been born rich... instead of being so damn handsome... all this stuff would just pile up!!! all the coolest toys!!! OH WELL!!!! |

Thanks to every body that made it out Sat. for the pictures. I will try to get a picture up later as I don't have a scanner. We were missing four people that said they would be there for the pictures and couldn't make it. We had 19 people counting Scotts new shy wife and Neils son. Great turn out. |
