Hello, I crashed my 1125R last summer by tankslapper, so I think that the damper is very useful and will increase the safety. Okay, let´s make a list about the the steering dampers. Öhlins: $479.00 @ EBR Bitubo: $579.82 @ Trojan Horse More:... Good sides, bad sides, everything... Thanks. |

GPR: $495 @ gprstabalizer.com I've never tried a rotary style damper, but if its good enough for John McGuinness... |

Just an FYI, you can pick up a GPR on ebay for 395.00 new. They usually have three different colors. |

The only one available for the CR is the GPR. I'm in the process of designing brackets to use inexpensive dmapers for the CR/R |

Are you sure about GPR having one for the CR? I looked everywhere and couldn't find any! |

Since when did GPR make one for the CR? Kevin_stevens dropped his bike off at GPR for prototyping, but last I heard they weren't going to produce it. |

Okay, I was wrong. More reason for me to make some brackets, eh? |

The 2011 frames had a boss/standoff cast in to the frame. Which would make mounting a a steering damper on the CR MUCH easier. <sigh> |

dibs on a prototype... see thats how ya line jump! on another note, ive still never seen a reason for a dampner on a buell, and ive ridden them hard on many types of surface. (Message edited by no_rice on April 23, 2010) |

Steve, I'm interested in the brackets as well. My '03 Suzuki SV1000S and my '03 GSX-R1000 had OEM steering dampers on them and I thought they were perfectly sufficient. I would like to put a steering damper on my R but can't justify $400 or more for a fancy aftermarket unit. But if I could mount up a used OEM damper from some other bike for not a lot of money, I'd do that for sure. |

High bar+CR = a desire for a damper |

You could just take it easy with the happy handle, and get 54mpg, but wheres the fun in that |

I'm down for a set of brackets too. I'd LOVE to have the option of mounting a damper on my CR. |

I think the CR is quite stable, but also very quick to accept input - I like that a lot, still I think I'd like to hedge my bets a bit VS extreme circumstances, and a damper does that. Brackets that make the GPR a viable alternative would be well received - I'm sure! EZ |

EZ, My brackets wouldn't make a GPR work. That would make the whole thing FAR too expensive. Making the brackets, I have in mind, still isn't going to cheap. Since the volume isn't there. It will be using an off the shelf, inexpensive damper. I've talked with Dan Bilansky in the past about this. He suggested I use the Shindy dampers. They are inexpensive(about $130), and be more than sufficient for the street bike, occasional track day. The GPR is way cool. But overkill for 99% of us. And We don't all need Ohlins either. I just want something that will work in that "oh crap" moment. |

Bump.. just wondering if Steve has had any more thoughts about an inexpensive steering damper setup. |
