so my speedo is starting off just fine. however once i start getting further into a ride (mileage ?) it will drop to zero. the weird thing is that if i shut the key off and then i turn it back on and start riding again, it works!!! copperfield style. so i talked to the local buell dealer and their A**holes and are totally worthless. he did however manage to gather some information. he said that if the wheel speed sensor has some shavings on it that it would cause them to act up.

1. what causes those shavings?
2. i cleaned the minor shaving off and it still does it sometimes.
3. could it be a bad sensor?
4. its hit or miss and it didn't do it the last two rides.

The sensors were problematic on the 03's. Replace it and be done with it : )
