I'm taking the front end off my '05 XB, got everything off except the lower triple clamp. Manual says just to remove, it seems like it is pressed on to the bearing. Any advice?? |

I am stuck too. Mine has been sitting for a few weeks because I haven't had the time to screw with it. |

I've not had to go that far. Maybe this should go to the KV I'll bet someone has had both triples off |

A good rap or two from a rubber mallet will do the trick. When I re-did the wifes bike it was stuck in and a rubber mallet fixed it. Jimmy |

I purchased a rubber mallet specifically for this. No dice. Oh, my block of wood has a nice half inch deep round donut gouge in it now from getting pressed down so hard. |

Yeah, I'm in the same boat. Took a block of wood and a hammer, have some nice deep donuts in the block of wood, didn't want to force anything. Guess I'll try giving it a couple more whacks... |

Froggy, it's too bad you live so far from the Barn. We have some good times there, every once in a while we fix something too. |

Hang it with a bungee to keep it from hitting the ground. Next try some penetrating loob around the shaft. |

Success! I got it off today whacking it more with the hammer. My guess is that the penetrating fluid soaking in for a few weeks did it. I got it off, futzed around and put on a 1125R front end. Tonight is the first night since last July that this bike has slept on the kick stand! Now I just need a Firebolt fairing bracket, XBRR bodywork, and a whole lot of praying I don't botch something |
