Some pics of the San Carlos Event - Reg was cool, the event was fun, more people would have showed if the early weather had been better - I got soaked by fog on the way there - lol - lowest time was by a twinn - xb9s - Steve Downey I think his name was - should have worn pucs his knees were low enough - lol - second third and forth were by two stroke singles - tiny bikes with giant riders - lol - some pics - This is Steve - don't know his full name - Know He's going to Vegas! - and if they have anything for quickest around the track he'll probably snag that along the way to winning for Cali and himself - that was the very first turn and see where his knee is - his front wheel lifted on almost every turn exit - he cooked it through the whole day and still managed to win! My hats off to him! (Message edited by ezblast on May 26, 2003, %time) (Message edited by ezblast on May 27, 2003, %time) |

Funny things - the guy on the Goldwing left his Buell at home because he wanted to see how well he'd do on the Wing, and the guy with the V-Rod owned one of the local dealerships so he didn't care at all about all the parts he was dragging - made for great specticle and some cool sparks - lol - Steve on an xb9s had fastest time breaking 40 sec, with two stroke singles set up for super-motard taking the next three fastest times.I ended up being very consistant in the end but not being a twin did not qualify - lol - so I left soon after the singlescompetition -One of my friends Joe came in second - didn't hear who won but my money was on either the wing or v-rod for consistancy of time - well see when its posted - lol - here's a few more pics! Steve won! Got Thump?! Just Blasting on the Dark side! EZ (Message edited by ezblast on May 27, 2003, %time) |

Steve Downey on a XB9S won! So he must have really gotten it together and slowed down a bit to make his time, because when I left after the first twin time bracket group went he had clocked a 40.01 (yea even faster than most his previous laps -lol)and he was going for 42.10. Damned it was cool to watch him ride - totally fearless -knee touching almost every corner and wheel lifting off each corner - beating the two strokes who had everyone else beat by 5 sec.s or more! His style was definately on a different level from everyone elses - I'm sure California is well represented with him there in Vegas taking care of Business - he definately raises the bar! Got Thump?! Does anyone know where I can find results and pictures from the BattleTrax that was just held in Harrisburg, Pa. on june 28-2003. And don't send me a link to the BattleTrax site- they have nothing. I was just wondering if anyone else was there that might have info and especially photos. Thanx, Peggy |

Dave, How do I get a copy of the course layout for a Battletrax?? I have access to several hundred pylons and a very large training compound. |

Okay, all else being equal (same rider, tires, so forth), which is better/faster/more efficient on a BattleTrax course: a stock M2 or a stock S2? I haven't checked the lean angles on both so off hand I don't know if that's all it comes down to. I do know the S2 would hurt more to drop than the M2 due to the body work damage that would happen. |

M2 is lighter and has real handlebars, a big help. |

Definitely the M2. A Battletrax is not the S2's forte. It's bigger and heavier and laid out for more stability. |

Okay, scratch that idea then. Thanks for the feebback Jose and Aaron. How much difference is there in weight between the two (couldn't find the specs on the S2 in a quick web search, and I don't think the weight difference is only in the flywheels ). The guy on the S3 seemed to do comparatively well against the other guy on the M2. |

i rode my 99 m-2 in a battletrax. it was a short course and the fast times were in the 25 to26 second range. ground the edges of my boots plum off! jumped on a new xb lighting and took about a second off my best time!! sweet bike in the tight stuff. was not as quick on the firebolt demo bike. everyone should do a battletrax on whatever bike they have. a real cool setup! |
