does anybody know by chance whether an oil tank from a 98 S1W is interchangeable with a 99 M2 tank? The numbers in the parts books are different, the pics the same and I cannot think of a reason why anything might be different.... I need a tank for a S1W.... Thanks for any insight. :-) |

I don't believe so. IIRC when I spoke with Al about the M2 and S1 aluminum tank differences, it wouldn't happen because the holes are different and in different spots. If you see here: http://www.americansportbike.com/shoponline/ccp0-p rodshow/5550.html The M2 and S3 tanks are interchangeable, but the S1 is specific, as well as the X1. |

different shape, different mount, not good. I should have my old S1 oil tank still here, send me an email and see if we can come up with something... |

rock on...Maybe it was just the aluminum ones, because Al and I were talking about it and he said those definitely wouldn't fit. Anyways, I have an M2 tank I'm not going to be using...I also have a Banke Oil Cap/Dipstick I am selling as well. |
