Fellow WCC'rs,
Out of curiosity I called Bud Curtis at Hal's HD about how many spots are open for the Homecoming Trackday. Lo and behold, there are 84 open spots!!!!!! That means just 16 folks have paid as of moments ago!!!!! IF you are planning on doing the track day please contact Bud at Hal's HD to get this done before MAY 15th!!. Also if fellow clubbers are going to register on Thursday at Alpine Valley they need some table help. Bud joined our Facebook as a friend of the Windy City Club so contact him there as he checks facebook more than he is available via the phone at Hal's. Bud Curtis (262) 814-8685
Spread the word about the track day so we do not loose this great opportunity to have the track primarily a "Buell" event.
Tim so glad you were competent enough to "take the hint" at first sign of the wobble to shut it down, safely and avoid the crash. Well done.

Good news. I just ordered a new 2010 wheel assembly and it is all in stock at HD. It is scheduled to arrive on Wednesday. If all goes well, I will be up and running within a week.
Looks like the Slimy Crud will be a go after all. So, who's going? I do not want to go by myself! I do not want to start another taunting thread.
Look at me, pushing for participants and I don't even have a bike. |

Assuming the wheel is back together, I will be riding to Pine Bluff Sunday morning. Last year we met at the Belvedere Oasis on I 88. This is good meeting location for most everybody in the Chicago area.
What is everybody's thoughts on this. I could also be talked into riding up Saturday and staying overnight.
I am open. |

Marc is in for slimey crud run on Sun May 2! Tim get your wheel together please so we can have another fun Crud Run. I'm up for an 8:15am start at I-88 Belvedere toll like we've done before. Weather looks warm but wet at this time...much too far in advance to confirm or deny good weather.

Anyone know of a brick-and-mortar store around Chicago that sells motorcycle gloves and has a big selection ?
Fingerless gloves that say 'H-D' don't count. |

Humm, We got three racks full of "serious" riding gloves from H-D, Joe Rocket, Alpinestars, and Olympia. What kind of "boutique" gloves are ya looking for that we wouldn't have you covered? LOL

I just bought stuff at Chicago Cycle on Touhy and they were puttin' out plenty and had off-brands as well as top names..biggest selection i've seen in one place..that's a bit north, though
only other place "west" has decent selection is DGY motorsports in Downers Grove on ogden ave.
BTW: hope the CRUD weather improves for sunday.....

Sam, where in the store do they hide the sport riding stuff...I've looked for ,jackets,boots and gloves and never saw any....there was some with Buell gear but that's all gone....You'll have to lead the blind next meeting.....
Dang!!! if the stuff is there...i just spent 'a-plenty at ChiCycle and gas money too, with no discount. |

I should have been less flippant about fingerless H-D gloves. Dealerships near me are seriously lacking in sport riding stuff or overtly Buell-hostile. No slam intended.
I don't have any particular glove in mind. I just want to protect my hands if and when bad things happen. Gauntlet, straps, knuckle protection, palm protection, comfortable, affordable... |

Slimy Crud,
It is looking better for the bike. The swing arm is in and installed, the new axle arrived today. With luck, the bike will be completed by Wednesday. I am in Chattanooga until Wednesday afternoon. Hopefully I can get back to Chicago in time to pickup the bike Wednesday.
All in all, the parts arrived very quickly from HD and they are doing a great job getting the bike going.
At this point, who plans on going?
Hopefully the weather will cooperate. |

Just returned from Chattanooga. The bike is completed but I cannot pick it up until Thursday.
It is a go for the Crud as long as the bike is OK.

Just picked up the bike. It is a little more stable than the last ride.
I always go over my bike after work is performed by others. I always find something missed or wrong. This time I found that the oil was filled almost to the top of the dip stick. Anybody with an XB knows all that extra oil will be puked into the air filter. Also, I am sure they just installed standard HD lubed.
Friday I will do an oil change to install Mobil 1 VT and a new WIX filter. Small potatoes! I will be ready for Sunday!
Now, who's going and are we meeting at the Belvedere oasis? Don't be shy now, speak up! Damn the weather! |

I only know the one on I-90 near Rockford
IF I go (80% sure) is anyone going past DownersGrove and who might I pass on my way to Madison, form D.G. ?
