Just wondering, do they remove any of the tail section when installing the harness? including the license plate bracket?

Only on Cali bikes, and only the colored bodywork not the undertail.

On the cali bikes there is the carbon can in the place where the relay is fitted,so on cali bikes the relay is fitted on the outside of the seat frame.

My '09R is a 49-state bike, but since I had the dealer install the CA canister while my bike was getting the charging harness done, mine was done Cali style.

Relay mounted correctly on the outside of the frame, meaning they had to take the tail plastic off. Easy enough, having taken it off myself to install the fender eliminator.

Just got back from having mine done. I was a little surprised that the trip odometer didn't reset and the clock was still set correctly when I got the bike back. Do they not have to disconnect the battery to do the upgrade, or will the 1125 keep it's "memory" for a while when the battery is disconnected (unlike the XB's)?
