I picked up a mighty vac today, and i want to make sure i understand how to use it. i'm switching to the high bar kit, so i'm going to have to take off the lines. 1. remove the master cylinder cover 2. put the mighty vac on the bleeder screw, turn the screw a half a turn, when the book says half a turn do they mean 180 degrees? 3. pump out the brake fluid. 4. change the lines and bars. 5. fill up the master cylinder. 6. do i leave the bleeder screw open and use pump the mighty vac to get the air out? |

I had to use it to re-bleed my leaking clutch, it was pretty easy. I am not sure if I was doing it right, but it restored my clutch. On the Mightyvac I used the little catch bucket thing with the locking lid and two hoses, one hose goes to the vac the other to the bleeder valve. No need for any of those adapters it comes with for the valve, the hose fits on but is a little loose. I then pumped the mightyvac like a dozen times to build up pressure, and if your fitting is semi loose like mine it will slowly loose pressure. I then cracked open the bleeder valve (stupid wrench only got me 1/3 of a turn), and continued pumping both the clutch lever and mighty vac at the same time. After pumping it a bit I took the catch bottle thing and dumped it back into the master cylinder to recycle my fluid. After a few minutes of fussing around my clutch lever had feel again so I then closed the bleeder valve. I would imagine that its the same thing for the brake too. |
