Racer, thanks for the offer, events are spiraling and conspiring to thwart the evening...best bet thus far is Wagner's...have we decided on a time? I like that early morning cool and the thought of car alarms in my wake is positively thrilling! |

Alright, 0600, Winger's gas/caffeine infusion stop Rt 30, east of I270 35 miles. I've invited Mr(Rick)&Mrs(Lynne)Blattner. They will be aboard the new (03)Sportster Custom which as we all well know, know well, noel, is a wee bit, ahem, not quite as quick around corners or down the straights, as some of the other machines that make appearances. I'll hang back, as usual, and make sure that we don't press them too hard or lose them back upyonder. They are wonderful folks, she's very enthusiastic about riding and will soon have opportunity to twist throttle on the Sporty when the new Electra-glide Standard arrives later this month... |

Public notice: Riding with Racerboy and V2Win is not to be missed! Everyone who reads the SLAB postings and anyone who rides in our 'hood' knows Bob and John. Once again, it was my great pleasure to ride with them through some of the finest MC roads in the state. Rick and Lynne were just thrilled to pieces. Huge grins, non-stop recall of the days events, planning dinner at Shady's already. Two very happy riders with a growing appreciation for sport riding(versus cruising in a straight line). Rick was going to check out his 'chicken strips' as I left. Thank you both for spending the day with us. Thanks for guiding and pacing and patience. Quacker is scheduled for fresh oil, chain maintenance, the CycleCat adjustable bar risers and a thorough detailing. Gotta get ready for the next chance to keep you two in sight!! God Bless America and air cooled twins. edited by Kevyn on July 05, 2003 |

DAve, sorry you couldn't make it, it was the best July 4th ever! It would have been fantastic to have you and an S2 along. Honkin' down the road, I was wondering if my S2T could have kept the pace! Every time I ride the Duc and then ride the S2, I'm conscious of the weight differences first, the S2's torque, the S2's grace through a corner, it's smooth ride and planted feeling. The SS is light and nimble, easy to lean with, likes to run fast and in it's sweet spot just rolls nearly effortlessly into and out of a corner. I feel so lucky to have two such unique machines to ride. |

Next Saturday's Ride to Rolla Ed and I were thinking that next Saturday might be a good time to go back to The Elbow Inn for some BBQ...There will again be a swimming opportunity as, most of you know, it's right on the Big Piney river...We'll post directions later in the week...I was thinking a 0900 Eureka QT leave time would give us a bit of a chance to ride some better roads on the way down... See Ya! Bob |

Long time...thanks John for the info. I've been having problems with our computer...bought a new one. Good things happening, buying our first home this week, got to ride the dragon a couple months ago and finally getting out of trucking. Im start some I.T. training in a few weeks. The M2 has been getting some attention lately, should be put back together this weekend. If any of you get down this way, shoot me a message...lots of flat, straight roads to be explored. Adam |

Press Release: for immediate publication Date: 7/01/03 Subject: Ride To Work Day 2003 RIDERS REV UP TO LEAD THE 12TH ANNUAL RIDE-TO-WORK DAY. This year's annual Ride to Work Day event takes place on Wednesday, July 16th. Motorcycle riding participants include tens of thousands of employees and workers at companies, government agencies and hundreds of motorcycle rider groups. Riding to work on this day demonstrates to the public and to all officials that motorcycling is more than a stimulating and invigorating recreation. For many people, riding is a socially responsible form of personal transportation that saves energy, reduces congestion, adds parking spaces, helps the environment and provides a broad range of other public benefits. Ride to Work Day dramatically shows that motorcyclists come from all walks of life, work in all occupations, and range in age from teenagers to grandparents. The American Motorcyclist Association and many other worldwide rider organizations have actively encouraged all motorcyclists to ride their cycles to work on the third Wednesday in July each year to show that motorcycling is a social good. Global participation in the yearly demonstration is estimated to be several million riders. Today there are over two hundred and twenty million cars and light trucks crowding American roads and seven million registered motorcycles. If more motorcycles become a regular part of the transportation mix, it will help make urban parking easier and traffic will flow better, according to Ride to Work, a non-profit advocacy organization. Studies have shown that urban motorcyclists reach their destinations faster and are more invigorated and refreshed upon arrival than those using automobiles. In advanced countries like Japan, Germany, and England the advantages of motorcycling for transportation are widely appreciated. In the United States, a smaller percentage of the seven million registered cycles are used for everyday transportation and commuting. On the year's 12th annual Ride to Work Day, motorcyclists worldwide seek: - Employer recognition and support for motorcycling - Greater public and government awareness of the beneficial values of motorcycling For more information about Ride to Work Day visit www.ridetowork.org or call 218.722.9806. Since I'll be at Deal's Gap next weekend I will be unable to lead the Third Sunday SLAB/HSTA ride...Would anyone like to volunteer?...All you have to do is plan a route, write it up, make about 30 copies and ride...You don't have to "lead" the ride but can let the others leave and fend for themselves...Pick a lunch spot no more than about 125 miles out and have fun... Thanks, Bob |

Hey all, Check out Buells Website!! The new models are out and I must say that I am impressed!!! Especially with the Black XB12R!!!!! The little boss saw me looking at them on the website and stated. "Don't even think about it! We have a wedding to pay for!" That sucks! I'll work on her a bit more though! Keith |

Keith, she is gorgeous, but, have you offered her cash to elope???? It will definitely be cheaper! Then you can get the bike that was meant for you. |
