To make a long story short. My bike got run over by a Jeep. : )

It was my Jeep and I was driving it. If I could kkick my own ass, I would.

Only damage was a broken mirror and mount. I have new mirrors on the way. I wanted to do that anyway. No big deal.

But, the part the mirror threads into is broken. I'm not sure what it's called, part number, etc.

It's black, almost round, affixes to the bars with an allen bolt and has threads where the mirror attaches to it.

Anyone know what I'm talking about and can help me locate one. I need the left/drivers side piece.

Left side = clutch side? Not sure which side is driver's side (front?). Are we talking 1125 or XB? XB mirrors mount to clutch perch, 1125 mount to fairing.

Not if it's a CR - they mount via a pair of arms to the handlebar controls.

Not got a parts manual with me ( at work ) so can't help - but it would help if you state which bike.

for the cr, the mirror threads into a hole thats on on the master cylinder.
check out this pic. my bike was wrecked so the mirrors are removed, but you can see the hole to the right of the master cylinder and to the left of the clutch.

p/n for brake master cylinder-H0507.1AMC
p/n for clutch master cylinder-N0104.1AMA
If i remember correctly they are both about $100

yeah that sucks, my bike rolled three times and the mirrors just snapped off, the bolt holes were fine. I think they designed the mirrors to break first so that you don't have to replace the whole master cylinder. Honestly I thought my bike would be totaled when i first looked at it after the wreck, I can't believe how well these bikes wreck. If it hadn't rolled there would have been like no damage.

and i ordered my parts at latus-harley -davidson.com, they have good prices, and the best part is u can plug p/n's right into their website, and check prices without going to the dealer.

Yep they are designed to crash well. The mirror has two "breaking points", one where the mirror/signal connects to the stem, and the other at the base where it connects to the master cylinder assembly. I knocked over my CR and it hit a stool on the way down ripping the mirror right off. Three times down on the right, no major damage : )

You should see how good my XB did after hitting a stopped car while doing 60mph. Replaced the forks and a rim, good as new. : D

Gotlime - if you post a pic of the damage it's possible someone might give you an alternalive solution. i can think of a couple of cheaper ways to do it..but it depends on how much you're concerned about perfection..

You can buy the clamp side (effectively the half moon shaped piece that just forms the rear half of the mount with mirror mount threads in them, that's give you somewhere to mount the mirror but wouldn't look 100%

I know that description sucks, I'll see if I can find a picture to show you what I mean

Have you considered sizing the hole up and drill(if required and tap. You could drill and insert a helicoil(aval at Granger, MSC, ect). If you use a helicoil the correct metric size can be used. Then you can get a pair of those new Motoscience mirrors...

The threads are fine. I'll post a pic.

Moto-science mirrors may be here today. Now if I can just find a way to mount this one!!

You can't buy that part separately - they come as part of the bars !

My advice ? Scour Ebay - you may be able to find something similar - I've seem mirror offset arms on there before that may be adaptable.

Unless somebody has some takeoffs ? There's also a thread running about MotoScience mirrors - perhaps somebody will sell you their originals ...

It looks like just the mirror is broken, not the entire handle, just remove the torx bolt and you can put a new mirror on

RAM Mounts do something similar too - I have one... It's part of the kit to mount the RAM ball to an existing mirror mount and give you somewhere to re-attach the mirror..

This is RAM's mount that looks like (apologies for the poor pics) looks like it might work at a pinch.
