I went to change my oil for the first time on my 07 Uly and noticed a small nail head size hole right where the front header pipe meets the muffler. Directly under the strap that holds it on there. Hasn't made the bike run funny at all I just noticed a sound, put my hand down there and felt the hot gases coming out. I went to autozone and picked up some of that exhaust sealer that says it will outlast the muffler. It's crazy how these things rust so quickly. Anyway I thought I'd share and I won't know until tomorrow if the stuff worked. Anybody else had this problem before and why would a hole appear there? |

I've got a 98 mustang with almost 200k on the clock (just changed oil this morning at 198k) Everything from the cat back has been full of holes since I bought the car last summer. For a while I kept buying those repair kits with the tape type stuff that is heat activated and gets hard as a freakin rock after you drive with it for a couple days. Eventually there was more of the repair tape covering the exhaust system than actual metal pipe though, but I've never had any issues with the areas that have been taped. |
