I have -08 1125R with "Onion Sauce Bottle" tune, K&N, oem muffler and denoided. Today I test my R with 2.5" long velocity stacks. Now it lifts front wheel much more agressively in second gear than before. Only twist of the throttle (7000 rpm) and... In third gear it needs a little help but can make a wheelie. Has anybody else tested stacks and which results? |

Blower1 - Now that I can see the pictures....nice work. Yep...long velocity stacks promote low speed (rpm) power. Short stacks promote high speed power. Just engine dynamics 101. Had thought about the same thing...just too many projects to tackle this one right now... I did mess with my ol FZR1000. I added about 1-1/2" to the stock tube. Worked very well. I donīt know about ideal length, but it seems to works with oem exhaust. Ideal length depends on many things, ie. camshaft, headers, cylinder heads and where to want more power (low, mid or top end). |

As I noted earlier......there IS NO ideal length!!!! Those who live at 3000rpm, vs. those who live at 5000rpm, vs. those who live at 6500rpm...ALL require a different length. Then add to that, the "range" that the engine lives at. You need to know the "realities" of the main rpm areas that you spend most of your time...THEN do the math to figure the length. Even a taper and the bell radius plays into the math. As in most things...there ISN'T a single best or instant gratification for everyone...! Love those questions... Mike |

@ Skntpig I notice the same thing. Is the front stack longer, because the front exhaust is shorter??? I have made a set of 1.5" stacks and a longer front exhaust header. Should I change the rear stack to the shorter stack, or front exhaust header to the longer header... |

Does anyone have any idea what the intake cam duration or intake runner length actually are? I have never seen this info anywhere but assume someone knows it. |

There was an article in RRW Dec 09 with 1125RR specs, with intake duration at 258 degrees. I know it has titanium valves, but I think the cam is the same. |

Ottobotz, that is hard to say. It is likely to cause changes in the AFR at different points in the RPM range. From my rather limited understanding of the dynamics I have come up with the following: Note: this is intended as a question and not fact. I am not suggesting that anyone go out and modify their bikes based on this. Specs Intake Cam Duration: 285 Intake Runner without Stack: 9.5 Inches Intake Runner Diameter: 61mm Calculations Intake runner length of 12.5 inches gives us the 4th induction wave Target RPM Range: 5600-5700 Velocity stack length: 3 inches Lowering the target RPM range increases the length of the stacks to the point of being unusable with the stock air filter. In fact, 3 inches might even cause some problems. Can anyone confirm the specs I have used above? (Message edited by RatsMC on April 19, 2010) |

-I got an e-mail back from FACTORYPRO.COM and they make different styles and sizes of stacks, billet, aluminum, plastic. It's a cool site. -They dont make any as of now for the 1125 Buell. They can but need a bike to do sizing and testing. -They are in San Rafael, CA, if there is anyone up that way, I would but I'm down in AZ contact MARC@ 415-491-5920 |

-08 1125R dyno results with and without 3" velocity stacks (oem exhaust, K&N) : Run 006, stock flash with oem stacks. Run 007 stock flash with 3" stacks. Run 005 tuned ecm with oem stacks. Run 008 tuned ecm with 3" stacks.
