i have a 09 cityx. 2,300 miles, i been ridding fine all last week, and the bike sat for the weekend. i started it this morrning to go to work and it took 2 trys to start and once started it ran for like 30 sec then stalled out. then i restarted and had to blip the throttle a few times to keep it going. then it ran fine. on the way to work it hesitated a little but cleared out. and on the decell slowing down it popped a lot louder and more pronounced than before. i did a tps reset before i rode but after the hard starting. what would be some things i need to look for if it continues. the bike is stock

Fouled plug from the stall would be my first guess.

Blipping the throttle while the bike is cold is not a good idea.

Yeah, sounds fouled. Go out and ride the snot out of it, do some high rpm stuff, see if it clears up. May have to reset the AFV.

thanks i am about to head home and i will get on it. i cant imagine why a plug would go with so low millage. the afv is that something i can do like the tps reset or does the dealer have to do it. i wonder if i bring it in will the warranty cover it. unless they dont find anything then they charge me for wasting their time

If they are a good dealer, and it is under warranty, then they may be willing to look at it for no charge.

Gotta love that the solution to our most common problem is to rod on the bike for a few minutes. : )

i rode home today and romped on it with rpms around 4 to 5 grand and let it get low then get it hard up to 6 1/2 a few times. it rode normal again. it even started fine after sitting all day at work. ill keep a eye on it and if it does it again i will go to talk with dealer

The iridium plugs have been good to me so far even though I almost always mistreat it when I start it.

I'm not 100% sure it's the same on the newer models, but on my '03, you reset the AFV by riding at 3000 rpm for 30 seconds in 3rd gear. Works. I go up and down a lot of mountains here and so it gets out of whack and will start backfiring on me until I reset it.
