Anybody got an EBR race ECM fitted and also had the charging harness mod carried out prior to fitting the race ecm? Trying to find out if the race ECM has the 142 flash coding mods to control the additional relay that chops out one alternator phase below a certain rpm. I have e:mailed EBR but I know they are very busy |

Yes, the EBR Race ECM has the proper modifications to control the stater harness. |

thanks for a quick response Tibman260, how has the EBR race ECM performed for you? |

I am actually not running the EBR ECM, but I know the guys there and had it confirmed their ECM supports the stator harness. |

My bike runs fine but the new relay trips like crazy with the EBR ECM installed. Michael at EBR knows about the problem and I am waiting for his reply. |

reducati if you have your bike turned on, not running and rotate the rear wheel (roll the bike) you can not hear the relay tripping like crazy? |

Tbowdre,if you are having issues with the relay, I doubt it is because of EBR's ECM. The code to control the stator relay harness in their ECM is exactly the same as the stock ECMs. |

relay does not trip with stock ECM |

Has your stock ECM been updated with the correct flash to control the stator harness? |

Yes. my dealer is not the most 1125R savvy (it seems) and as I was told the bike is finished "here ya go." I actually asked if they updated the ECM. Huh? blank stare. They rolled the bike over and hooked it up to check/flash as needed |

If your relay does not trip...what do you think it is doing? Sounds like your bike doesn't have the latest flash and the harness is doing nothing. ac |

certainly possible sheesh.... can anyone else confirm that my bike is unique? Please chime in if you have EBR ECM and new harness. Turn your bike on, not started, and rotate the back wheel (roll the bike if not on a stand).... is your new relay in the tail section going like a bat outta hell? Mine does. With the OEM ECM installed I hear nothing. thanks, todd |

Tbowdre New harness monday reinstalled race ecm roll bike in 6 gear with clutch pulled lots of relay chatter also several error codes. There was no mention of inserting pins. Tech said the new harness looks the same as the old one. |

I have read somewhere here that a part of the solution is a new lead from the stator harness to an ECM plug. Trust but verify. I am wanting to perform an audit. Am I correct in remembering the ECM is left pod? I would like to see the ECM plug with new lead from harness. A diagram showing the plugs pin position for stator control would be perfect. THX |

new pin goes in pin 21 of the black connector of the ecm and yes it's under the left radiator cover |

Seems like i am alone? nobody else with relay action? Zip88 the new harness is definitely different. |

Hey Todd, was the EBR ECM in the bike when you had the charging system upgrade or did you have your stock one in? |

EBR's Michael said my symptoms make no sense at all to their technical people. The relay maybe getting a signal from the speed sensor (I totally agree) but they will check out the ECM. Again, really awesome customer service from EBR Im going to try and figure out what was supposed to happen during the install of the new harness and see if I can troubleshoot anything myself. Anyone have the instruction packet they could PM me or email to tbowdre@hotmail,com?? thanks, todd |

Thanks Todd, I understand that a reflash needs to be done once the harness is installed. I'm curious if the relay clicking is caused because you had your stock ECM reflased with the update. I'll try the upgrade with the EBR ECM in my bike. Mines on back order but I'll update once done. Thanks for the info. |

Gootch- It seems to me like that would be a very bad idea. If you update/new harness with the EBR ECM you will lose your tune during the reflash. The ECM will be flashed with the EPA mandated DOT approved HD/Buell tune. this is totally my understanding only! The EBR ECM is already flashed to work with the new harness and should not be an issue. Mine is unique and "we" do not know why.... yet todd |

sounds like they may have installed the wire in the wrong hole at the ecm. the pin that should have plugged into is used as the shift light output. that is totally rpm based and not vehicle speed based. just my 2 cents |

thanks Gemini, this is the one thing I have been able to check thus far. I am looking for a copy of the installation instructions in order to check everything. On my bike the new wire coming from the ECM is on the black connector at location 21. again thanks to everyone who has read this and said "damn WTF" or chimed in! |

reread all of your posts. seems that the ebr ecm maybe have had a couple 1's and 0's misprogrammed. do you have access to ecmspy or read for mono? |

yep I do have ecmspy BUT i do not have the EBR ECM. It is headed to east troy as we speak for a check over/reflash. Ill keep you guys posted if they figure something out todd |

very cool bud. i am sure they will find the glitch. they are very sharp. i have spent a bunch of time over the years messing with eeprom on this bikes. probably too much time according to my wife. while the version of layout may not be publicly known, some time spent "staring" at numbers and the paterns can often be figured out. it's a nerd thing. kinda like back in nov-dec when the resisitors were on back order, did some looking on some known values for a different layout and found the diag bytes. found the pattern and matched it for my layout(bued2) and simpy turned off the ecm ability to check for function and circuit issues for the AIC. it's a nerd thing |
