I posted an email last week to see if anyone knew of a "safe" site to download EcmSpy from now that the developer has pulled it - thought I would try a different approach with this thread...

I'm a new owner of a used Buell and could really benefit from access to this tool... Would you be willing to mail me a copy of EcmSpy? I've never seen the program first-hand, but assume that there was an installation executable that was downloaded and used for the installation. The installation executable could/should be portable and I thought it would be worth trying...

I should have mentioned that by "portable" I mean that it could be burned to a CD, which could be mailed to me (I'd of course pay for the disk and postage).

I assume you know you need a special cable to connect to the ECM port on the bike.

99 X1 I need the cable and software CD. Anyone know of anywhere else other than Fleabay t find it...?...
Since this will be my 1st experience with using this I have a couple questions; is their different maps for your paticular set up. I have the race ECM , full Race exhaust ,Forcewinder Intake.

The developer does not want people distributing copies of the program, but you can still find it by Google searching for ECMspy download.

was wanting to ask if there was more than one version of ecmspy as i downloaded more than a year ago and I never installed it. Uly has been running ok and with other bike to share time on I just haven't done it yet. also mother in law passed and helping wife with estate business has taken a lot of time. to go2: how has you're uly handled life? I was curious as to ins and outs of these bikes. learned about warming the thing up and fouling plugs though. perhaps the spy is what i need though. take care..

Just to bring a helpful thread back to life, can anyone tell me what the NEWEST version of ECMSPY is? Not ECMRead, but ECMSpy. They called it "version 2" but I think I read somewhere that it had a goofy version name, like 1.1.2 or something. If someone could e-mail me the "good" version, I surely would appreciate it. Or, if you tell me that 1.12.1 is the good stuff, I'll be satisfied. Thanks!

My X1 exhibited the very same symptoms and they seemed to worsen as the temp dropped. That indicated to me there was a part throttle lean condition which a plug read confirmed. I ordered a product called a Powercard fuel management system which is made by Dobeck and programmed by a company called Moss Motorsports. It piggybacks the OEM computer and solves the problem neatly. Mine was especially bad, since the addition of the Forcewinder intake and the Supertrapp exhaust. Just to be sure, I serviced the IAT Sensor and put in a new Bosch #12014 O2 sensor. Bike runs great with just the Moss Motorsports Pre-installed map. Time on the Dyno will tell. For any HD dealer to say that a driveability issue in the Meat of the powerband is not normal. For a professional HD mech to say something like that, he ought to have his certs pulled. That's just piss poor customer service. The stupid bastard was too lazy or too stupid to put in the time to fix it. Spend your money with his competition and call his boss and tell him why you will not be coming into his dealership anymore.

Well, reviving old thread again. I just bought a '02 X1 White Lightning w/Thunderstorm heads. Will start, but have to play w/throttle and will not rev above 3,000 nor stay running w/out playing w/throttle. Also when in gear, I can get it to move at about 5mph but that is it. Changed fuel filter and jumped sidestand switch. Want to get ECMSpy so I can check TPS and reset. Then diagnose from there. Bike had been sitting over 2yrs w/previous owner. Checked above link and it goes to a blank page. Anyone who can send me a copy I would be greatfull.
