I had a 2005 XB9SX so what has changed with the new bikes? I now have a 2009 XB12R. I saw someone saying something about doing a TPS reset on the 2008+ bikes was easy? And didn't need ECMSpy? Can I do anything to my ECM or do I just want to buy the Race Ecm when the time comes? I plan on running a Drummer exhaust and a better air filter. What air filter kits are there for the 2008+ bikes? I see a lot of stuff for 07 and earlier. What else do I need to know about my New Bike? |

the 08-09 use ddfi3 so it is indeed different then the 07 and older bikes. You can reset your tps with out any software on the 08+ bikes. The air filters are still the same so you can get the K&N, the buell pro series if you can still find it, or the piper cross from trojan. as far as making changes to your ecm for 08+ bikes here is a thread on how to do it or you can order the race one from EBR. http://www.badweatherbikers.com/buell/messages/327 77/548258.html?1270561116 |

Pretty much everything. Not much wasn't changed over the years, plus going from a Lightning to Bolt, its a whole new bike now

To reset an 08+ Buell, do the following: 1. Turn on the key. 2. Set the kill switch to the run position. 3. Don't start the engine. Rotate the throttle from fully closed (gently forced closed) to fully open (gently held open), and then back again to closed (gently forced closed). 4. Repeat 3 times. Hold each position (fully open, fully closed) for 1 full second. 5. Turn the key off and on.

No real need to do anything unless you start changing stuff out, but then just drop in the Race ECM and you are golden. You can buy a fully programmable one too if you want to make it 100% perfect.

The filter size is unchanged, any kit for previous years will work.

Read the owners manual, then ride the piss out of it. |

Hey froggy will this process help my bike if its backfiring a lot? Will it hurt anything? I have an 09. my bike does backfire a lot. It still has lots of power and i still love riding it, but i just figured if there was an easy way to reduce the amount of back firing I would. |

You mean the popping sound when you are decelerating? If so, its going to pop no matter what you do (nature of the beast), but a Race ECM and/or remap can help. |
