I used those gaskets, they are the best out there that I have found. For installation I make sure everything is clean and free of the old gasket and some people use a type of oil on the new gaskets but I never have. I put everything together loose then tighten and make sure everything is in place as I go. Make sure you tighten to spec. There is really no trick to it. |

Awesome. Thanks for the response Frank. So far I've read that anyone who has used them has praised how well they work. So, we shall see. I went to American Motorcycle and the owner there swore by these ISS intake gaskets. I tried them and they leaked as well. Sigh... |

Aldo_x1, welcome to the Colorado section of the BadWeb. I am sure rides will start popping up once the weather gets better. The X1 is a great bike and there is nothing wrong with an Old Tuber.... My favorites. Frank |

None taken, was just wondering if by city riders you meant City X (XB9SX) riders. |

Frank, I saw you on I-25 this evening on Your S2T. Made me think, you should just sell all the bikes but that one. I was out today on the CR and stopped by Rocky Mountain Cycle before heading down to Pueblo to meet some Canon City friends for dinner. |

If you saw me going South Bound then the problem was fixed, when I was going North I was on the side of the road more than anything. The bike kept stalling on me. I thought I might be water in the tank or the vent assembly. I figured out it was a vapor lock problem. I routed the gas line incorrectly and once I fixed it, it ran great. I am selling all my non-S2 bikes. |

Well folks. The weather is looking nice for the next few days. I'm planning on riding and if my wife is off tomorrow and the XB is up she will also. (Parts have to get here...) Anyways, planning a run up to High Country HD to get some final pieces for my 2010 wheels. |

Frank, it was North bound just before the southern Fountain exit. Didn't you have a similar problem in the same area not long ago? It must be true love! |

Dan and I did a ride up to Evergreen today. What a beautiful day. We stopped at the firehouse and I got checked out by the paramedics. Severe right upper quadrant pain. It did finally subside and we made it home. They were telling us about a motorcycle wreck just up the road from where we were. The cop was still at the site when we passed by. Hope the guy's OK. Did Shadow Mtn and there is plenty of sand on the roads still. It was a leisure ride (if anyone can believe that), no, really it was. Hope all had fun today and especially you guys that most likely went to the track today for MRA. |

Julie...I hope your ok...was it a cramp? I met up with the Dual Sport group and rode to Sedalia then up to Rampart, down to the S. Platte and along the river to Foxton and the up towards Conifer and back. Did 90 miles and thats a lot on a Dirt based bike. Had a good time. Still lots of sand in places but riding on dirt roads is a blast for a change. (Message edited by jcbikes on April 11, 2010) |

Ok folks. Road report. Took 67 to Deckers today. Roads is clear. Then I went up 126. Sand in the usual places coming from Deckers, but otherwise clear. Took 285 which has construction on it. Then to Indian Hills going into Morrison. All clear up that way. Was a good ride today until the end. Something put a good puncture in my rear tire that caused it to go flat in seconds. Tire is toast as it started to shred. Didn't go down, but had to get my truck to get home. Luckily it was on 83 just before County Line RD so I had my wife's father come pick me up. Wish I knew what got the tire. Thing still had good tread for half a season on it. Ah well, my new tires will be here this week and the new rims are ready to go. (Rim on the bike is still good through, no damage to it.) |

John, Dan and I were just talking about when we're going to get out dirt biking. I can't wait. I'm hoping our maiden voyage with the toy hauler will be out in the dirt I think the pain was due to being very hungry. I hadn't eaten much before we went out today. I won't do that again. |

Julie, Glad all is well. Rampart range trails and road to the Springs are closed until May 1 (usually open April 1) due to all the snow on the ground. We stopped on the ride yesterday and it looked like they still had around 3 feet of snow there. Wow! Wonder how the Rainbow trail area is where you and Dan have ridden? |

I wouldn't be surprised if there's still a fair amount of snow out there too, John. We're going to bring the toy hauler up by the house this week and start getting it ready so that all we have to do is pack it with food and GO!!!!!!!! Oh, and of course the bikes. Dan said my face got fairly white yesterday when we were stopped at the firehouse while my body was messing with me. I'm definitely feeling better. Actually did a 45 minute stationary bike ride last night. Can't get off the workout schedule |

Glad your feeling better Julie. Last time I rode a dirt bike was in the 70s. It is a whole different world and much fun. |

Frank, are you still thinking about getting some dirt bikes. It would be a hoot if a bunch of us could get together and go camping and dirt biking. A lot different than hauling butt on the street. So which bikes are you selling? |

Zac is buying the Uly but has not come down to get it yet so the tires should be nice and slick when he does. (just kidding Zac but I am riding to to and from work every day as it is the easiest bike to get out of the garage.) I will sell the 1125R next but want to play with it for a while. I am parting out the S1W and using the motor in a S2 frame. That will leave me with four bikes. I will have another dirt bike someday... |

Frank, Dirt bikes are fun. I learned to ride on a dirt bike and my life experiences on them have made me a better road bike rider for sure. The suspension of the new bikes is so forgiving that my old body can ride them again. One of the reasons I got away from them 15 years ago, was the beating my back would take. Not anymore! |

Jcbikes, I think we had the same experience. I can remember riding a friends 250 Honda... of course this was back before dirt bike suspension actually worked. I had a Honda 100 R/T. the R/T stood for Road/Trail, it was a bad road bike and even worse trail bike. What I really like is they come in all sizes so it will be easy to get Lynn something to ride as well. |

Got out this afternoon for a quick 30 mile Buell ride up the canyon. Roads are pretty good (as Julie said). I had two different groups of deer that I came on to, crossing the road in the hills, today. Be careful out there. They are moving around because of the warmer weather I guess. Both times I had too stop to let them cross the road. |

Julie, did you mention that Dan had fabricated a saddlebag frame for your 1125CR? I'm trying to get prepared for the Buell Homecoming trip and that issue has been on my mind of late. |

Jody, yes he did. It's a bracket to help keep the saddle bags out away from the side of the bike and the tire. |

Hmmm. I'd like to pick his brain on it sometime. Maybe I could ride up there one weekend soon and take a look. Probably not this weekend according to the weather report, though. |
