I would say market value is on the high end of S1 prices which is 4500-6500. However, if you hold on to that, and keep the miles low, it will only go up. |

Why would you do the recalls? Any changes from how the factory delivered it will most likely affect future value to a serious collector. It looks like the shock has already been changed, it sure would look better with the original WP on it!. Just my two cents. |

It's already off-stock: wrapped headers, aftermarket intake and exhaust, non-stock mirrors. True, all those things are reversible if you have the stock items. Are you asking about value because you want to sell it, or just out of curiosity? For a bike to ride, I would wonder what the bike was doing all those years without being ridden, other than having all the gaskets, isolators and tires dry out. I don't see value in keeping a bike like that stock, especially when there were safety recalls done. I'd rather ride the bike with a Penske, Hyperpro or AST coil spring shock than the recalled original. I'd rather ride it with modified forks, with tuning to match the intake and exhaust; I'd rather ride it with nice aftermarket mirrors than the mouse ears. But there you go - I'd just rather ride it, plain and simple, than keep it as a collector's item. |

all great points.....I picked up the bike from a collector who stored it correctly...I have the stock parts..would of course love to have the exposed spring WP, but I don't..I have the stock lollipop mirrors ( they still have the original "may appear" warning stickers on them) and the tank still has the sticker by the filler.... Fahren, for as much as I'd love to ride it, it would pain me to do so..which gives me the perfect reason/ excuse to purchase another S1 to keep the mileage low on this one....thanks for the input everyone.... |

buy a works performance, or penske shock from American Sportbike. They look like the stock shock, but perform much better! |

I hate to be the pessimist but something seems odd. Only 276 miles yet has header wrap, aftermarket intake and aftermarket exhaust. Why would somebody add these items on a bike that isn't ridden? |

Hmmmm, would be easy to put a 276 mile odometer on a bike that had significantly more use, eh? Not to be a dick, but is there any other verification of the number, like the odo at the last dealer service? DW |

That odometer looks a bit crooked in the picture too... |

I have every bit of supporting paperwork....from the original dealer to periodic services from the original dealer during the past 4 years....recalls weren't done out of original owner's choice....to receipts for every item and when it was installed....I have a folder full of documents..... How many people who purchase bikes put a few miles on them and and return to upgrade for the it factor ...have customization work done right away.....add pipes, change intakes.etc.....dealerships have plenty of bikes that the stock exhaust is removed in favor of aftermarket within a few miles...purely because the owner has the money and chooses to do so.. .as I said before, this bike didn't leave a respected Harley Buell Dealer until late 2006.....with one tenth of a mile..and every document corresponds in a timely and correct fashion.....no carfax history....no surge in use....one owner with other bikes and deep pockets |

gee, all that I was asking for was a rough guess-timate of the value.....given all other factors being even hypothetically true..... as far as the speedo/tach being crooked...the bike was covered with such a layer of dust from sitting in an 8 bay garage behind a 1950's era Mercedes Gullwing and an old Auburn that I loosened various parts of the bike up to shoot some pressurized air through it instead of doing a thorough Q-Tip clean up...not everything is perfectly straight...sorry for the oversight.... A crooked speedometer drops the value by about 2000 dollars. (Message edited by blackm2 on April 13, 2010) |

Like everything else, the "worth" of this bike is equal to how much someone is willing to pay for it. Or if you park it in Beverly Hills on a corner with a For Sale sign vs. down my street, you may attract a whole different group of folks with different size pockets... |
