Got my parts this afternoon and in a few minutes had them installed. I purchased some el cheapo bar end mirrors and self adhesive flush mount turn signals (R1 fitment supposedly) for about $40 shipped. Mirrors are about $20 and the signals about $12. Got them from d2moto.com. They shipped fast and sent tracking: no misery this time. Whole process is simple and requires few tools. 10mm to remove the stock mirrors. Wire clipper and stripper to use the leads from the stock mirrors for the new signals. Some 1/8" heatshrink. And for the bar end mirrors I used the non adhesive electrical tape that is thick and stretchy. I put one wrap around the expanding part of thebar end mirror and trimmed it with a razor knife. For whatever reason the expanding plug is about 1/8" too small in diameter and it will never sock up without some tape or other spacing material. Mirrors are pretty good...for ten bucks a piece I cannot complain. The signals do cover the mirror mount location but they are a little long and do not follow the fairing exactly. I think I will have to mask and caulk those later. I used some stainless steel Flat Head #10 machine screws and locking acorn nuts to secure the fairing to the underpinnings. the tapered head fit about flush with the fairing when tightened so the self adhesive turn signal went right over it no problem.   | ||

I like the blinkers they look good. I personally didn't like bar end mirrors. I found myself smacking them against things. (Mostly construction barrels!) They did however stay pretty stable at high speeds. | ||

It does look like I pinned her ears back. The mirrors worked good. I could see lights way behind me tonight. And they didn't blur into three or four sets of lights. I had my doubts about the signals staying put so I'll be gluing them in place. | ||

mountain,(or anyone else)have you come across any of those ebay flush-mounts that actually have mounting hardware that line up with factory mounts? it seems all are a little short or have one mounting bolt or look like crap. thanks. | ||

Nope nothing. I was hoping I could open these and add my own mounting bolts but the lense is melted onto the base plate and the LED array would be in the way. Option two (which I was too lazy to implement)would be to make a mounting plate from some 1/8" black acrylic (with bolts through it) and then glue that to the signals. Too much work IMO. A dab of adhesive caulk would be more than enough. | ||

I have planned on doing the same thing, but I also want to install some hefty bar end weights so I have hesitated on the whole project. Does anyone know if I will be able to install clamp style mirrors with a set of HVMP bar end weights? | ||

I had my doubts about the signals staying put so I'll be gluing them in place. Would you plan to glue the flush mount allen bolts to the back of the indicator if you go that route? Otherwise won't they just spin when you try to undo them? I have the same flush mount indicators in a box in the garage but haven't yet figured out the best way to make sure they mount securely and allow easy fairing removal.. | ||

Adapter part came with the mirrors. I think you have to look at these $12 signals as disposable. If you use black silicon and take the time to mask the area you can get a nice "gasket" of caulk around the perimeter. If you need to remove the fairing just pop the signals off. There is no space in the signal base to drill through and through-bolt the part to the bike. If you are set on doing it that way you will need to make a mounting plate and tap it in the right locations to catch a pair of bolts from below of the appropriate length. I might go that route eventually. For now it's silicon and go ride. | ||

I have the same mirrors and blinkers.I've ridden around 500 miles since i put them on with no problems. |
