So I'm on travel @ the moment, but the wife says my CR swingarm conversion goodies have arrived. So, as soon as I get home I'll do the swap a roo. I got a service manual, but figured I ask for any tips on doing the swap, my bike as like 70 mis on it at this point. Oh & I got a EBR ECM in the CR version which will give me the EBR performance improvement & correct for the gearing per EBR. Thnx. |

It is going to be hard for anyone to be of much help since you didn't let us know what swingarm you are putting on. |

jack rear of bike using stock muffler as jackpoint. i put a v in a 4x4 as the interface between my floor jack and muffler. i first put the bike on my rearstand to give a little more clearance. remove rear wheel, belt guards, sprocket guard, rider shift side footpeg support, fender, belt opening plastic, rear caliper(leave it hanging), brake line clamp, lower shock mount bolt, swingarm throughbolt. it might help to remove the passenger peg mounts for ease of maintenance. replace required parts and reassemble. this is by memory without looking so ymmv! have fun, tim |

Just out of interest but how do you support the rear of the bike when removing the swingarm (not that i ever intend to do this) - raising it on the rear stand to remove the wheel, covers, belt guards etc makes sense but as soon as you get to the swingarm throughbolt you'd need the bike supported somewhere else... I guess you could use a hoist and suspend it from the ceiling, but having it rest on the muffler would not be my first choice (or am i just being silly?) |

Jules, I use an ATV jack under the can right under it's mount. Changed my shock yesterday. I have a Torque Hammer and it works fine. |

Thanks for note on lifting the bike, I was wondering how to tackle it, I have a very low profile jack with a wide lift base I use for my Viper sounds like will work well to lift on the pipe. What about any "special tools", I assume I need to swap the swingarm bearings ... I'm anxious in case you can't tell. Can't wait to get home to get started. |

Geez. I need to learn to read better. It wasn't until I re-read it that I realized that you must have an R. That never occurred to me the first time through. On the helping side, I have hooks in the ceiling of my garage that I use for this type of thing. Just a couple of rachet tie-downs and the bike is suspended safely.
