The heading about says it all. Good story -- if such a story can be good -- on the HD's murder of Buell. The only thing I can quibble with is the 1125r deserves a bit more respect by the author. |

I'm still reading and weeping. I'd like to think that one survived, but probably not. Stupid on HD's part. |

Yeah read this right when I saw the cover. I'm hoping to see some production bikes come out of this shop, god knows they've got a great formula. I wonder if they are on the NYSE... Maybe if enough shares are sold they will have the capital to get something off the ground. IF that is a direction they are looking at going. |

That bike looks awesome, and I'm sure some will argue that is the way the 08' 1125R should have looked. What could have been is just depressing. Does anybody know how long Erik's "non compete clause" is? |

Does anybody know how long Erik's "non compete clause" is? I think I read somewhere 18 months. Not sure tho. R |

The article says about a year. So at the time of release that would be roughly 18 months. Hopefully he gets some private funding and goes it alone. I would hate to see public money screw things up. I think, from reading the article, he probably knows the quick way to get it going isn't always the best. |

15 months came from a article posted elsewhere on the BadWeb site: http://www.dealer-world.com/issues/amd128 Page 50, bottom of left column. |

"Arm Chair Quarterbacking", but I agree, I think this bike would have grabbed more attention than the released version. Who knows though, only speculation on my part, and you can't go back. |

I can only imagine what Eric would have done if he had it his way with building the bike's. Great article f*ck HD. |

>>>I can only imagine what Eric would have done I suspect you'll get to see. Don't get too hung up on all the legal mumble jumble that folks on the internet "know" about . . . |

This was a painful transition for everyone involved, especially the people who worked for Buell and their families. But, I think ultimately this will allow Erik to finally build what he wanted to build in the first place. What could come out of this is a bike that could be "the" premier sportbike that just so happens to be American instead of an American sportbike. I think the 3rd act will be far more interesting than the first two. |

Mine came in the mail Friday - good read. Not the first time upper management has made decisions based upon short-term gain, rather than long-term strategy. Kinda like politicians. |

come on march or may 2011. No compete will up and I bet it will be game on. Erik does not need HD. plenty of players already wanted to buy out the Buell. IMO why buy when you can set back a while and Let Erik do his thing. He has plenty Pull in the market. Plus, I am sure the No compete and patients are almost all free. Once erik is ready I bet he has a special rolodex for buyers and sellers ready to shock the world. This time I bet the bikes get into many more places places will market, sell, carry parts, attire and ect.sport bike locations. Time will tell. My fingers are crossed. I would like to see a (990)(draggon1) version for insurance savings lower cost more revs and ect. then a extreme big bore version (Juggernaut2). on top of that do a race version of each. My wish May be a dream but I want to see buell back even if it tied to a new company and name/s. But never HD they held him back. This is the best thing that could have happened actually. may suck for a while but it gives more freedom in the end to make what he likes and we like. bad bikes with attitude. I would bet he will be back. Just to prove a point. come on early march or may 2011. I bet we start hearing something then. This is all My opinion folks, But, I hope it comes true. mike |

It doesn't take brains to understand the seige mentality that flaws many peoples decisions indluding those at HD. I hope an Angel comes along and gives EB another try in the marketplace. 4 1125 engines placed together would make over 560hp as a v-8. Any automaker could benefit from those types of engineering achievements. |

Got the mag today, read the article during my daily return from work throne time. HD will never see another dollar from me. Period. God, what I would give for a case of Sam Adams and a night with Court and Erik where no topic is off limits, and nothing is held back. I fully believe that we have not seen the last from Erik, and I just can't wait to see what happens. I really hope there's a book in the works somewhere... |
