I'm happy (ecstatic?) to report that after a long wait, and 24 hours of driving over 3 days, I finally have my bike. I bought DHM's sliders and my husband put those on right away. I also have Rizoma bar ends, but we didn't put them on as we couldn't quite figure out how to get the stock bar ends off. They don't seem to twist off... how did you guys get yours off?? Thanks! they are just push ins, wrap on them with a light towel and use some pliers just use a up and down movement and pull at the same time and they will come right out... | ||

Use Andros' method if you don't give a **** about reusing them (like I did), or Keef's method if you think you might want to use them again in the future. I replaced mine with Throttlemeisters. | ||

They are something like $1 each should you want to go back to stock, so I say just man handle them  | ||

Vice-grips and a twist. One came out after getting crushed, the other took a little more work and a Dremel to get the bits and glue out. Took all of 10 minutes with Dremel cleanup. After getting those cheesy plastic caps off you'll never want them near your bike again anyway. | ||

You could also drill a small pilot hole in the end and then put a screw in there to help get some grip on the screw with some pliers and pop it off. You could even rig up a t Handle jibblet if you can weld. If you want to reuse it just put them back on and put a little dab of black RTV in the hole to seal it up. | ||
