eh lost of miles.....no issues but i can tell she is telling me i need attention honey. it feels like the timing is retarded too much.off idle it is not smooth,if u goose it and then go it is fine. near 20k plus the 17 it had when i got it, so what have i missed?i have done the engine oil 2x and the primary oil once.i cant do anything yet as no job and out of money. but i know its coming, just want to be ready for it. |

An 03 with 38,000 and stock belt should be past replacement time of your second belt (every 15,000). Primary oil every 10,000 and motor oil at least once a year or every 5,000 (maybe more with a synthetic). For the cost of the extra quart of oil I would do primary oil every year or every engine oil replacement. TPS is supposed to be checked and reset every 10,000. Spark plugs are supposed to be checked and replaced if not good every 10,000. Put in Iridiums, mine have been great so far even with lots of idling. Air cleaner checked every 5,000 and replaced if dirty (or cleaned/oiled if washable). Brake fluid replaced every 2 years. Takes about 4 to 8 ounces depending on wether you let in any air while purging the old stuff out. If the bearings are serviceable (covers come off) I would clean them out with solvent and put new synthetic bearing grease in them. You can get good grease from Boca Bearings for about $12 for a tube that will last a few rotations. Cable lube is a good idea and something I need to deal with on my 03 9R (only 6600 miles on it). Need to replace the clutch cable as it has chaffed down to the metal cable housing on one contact spot and it keeps stretching so I think it may be broken. |
