I would like post of miles on bike when the drive belts break. I ride pi$$ out of mine and I would like some references or time lines when your belts have broken. IE mileage, lots of rain rides, wheelies, burnouts, how many rear tires gone through this would help me keep an eye on mine.
thanks guys.

05 XB9SX has 50,000 miles on the original belt.

1125R is on it's second due to a rock that went through the first (small stone), but did not break the belt. Second has 5000 miles on it.

A rear tire lasts me about 3.2k That should tell you what I do with it....

A belt, about 4k for my first one

I have 9k on mine with track days/daily driving/spirited riding. Been through two sets of tires and getting ready for the third... not sticking with Corsa IIIs though.

I think the only Buells with real belt-breakage "issues" are the Ulysses X, with the long-travel suspension. Most racers run chains on the 1125s for ratio-changes for short/long tracks, not for strength (although it is a perceived byproduct).

I have around 45K miles on Buells and never an issue with a belt. I believe if you are smooth on the controls and don't subject the belt to sudden and extreme loads/stresses, they will last a LONG time. You can ride hard/fast and smooth at the same time.

YOu went thru 3 belts in 10K--would that be considered riding like a chump? obviously the VAST majority of owners have far fewer to zero belt incidents.

I would not even consider what i did to break them, riding very hard. so those of us that have either have bad luck or ride harder than those that dont. I hope it was just bad luck
