I have for sale a set of black Marchesini mags off my triple black S1W. The tires are fair and will include rotors, etc. I'm also trying to locate a solo seat and tail section for an S1. Would prefer black and a Corbin seat but open to hearing what you have for sale. Thanks, Nik |

Make an offer that's reasonable. Still looking for a S1 solo tail. |

How are the mags? Any rim damage, or other damage? If in good shape, I'm interested, PM sent. |

Just curious if you have pics of the wheels - AFAIK the S1W came with Castalloy wheels; if yours had Marchis, it'd be very interesting. The castalloys were visually and dimensionally identical to the Marchesinis, except the Marchesini has an "m" cast into the base of each spoke where it meets the rim. I have both in the garage - an S2 with Marchesinis, and a 98 S1W with castalloys. Happy to post pics if there are any questions. |

I would like to see a comparison of the markings on the wheels, Rat... |

First bike (red bike), 95 S2 with white (factory) marchesinis. The blue word is a sticker; the "m" is cast into the spoke base.
Second bike, 98 S1W with white Buell castalloy wheels. Main marking is the "Buell" cast into the spoke base, but there are a LOT more "other" markings on the castalloys - like "suitable for tubeless tire" and a number of alphanumeric codes here and there.

So, Diem24, can you please confirm, do they say Buell, or do they have the letter "m" ? Thanks! |

Sorry for delay. Been away for a bit. Did some homework and the wheels have the M stamped at the base of the spoke. Given the previous posts, I'm guessing these are not the original wheels??? I took them off to swap for a set of PM's I had in the garage. Anyone with a black solo tail and Corbin, I'd be interested in talking. Nik |

Interesting. I don't think I've ever seen Marchi's other than white. And I'm pretty sure that anything post-S2 came with Castalloys...Court? 1313? |

I don't think I've ever seen Marchi's other than white. And I'm pretty sure that anything post-S2 came with Castalloys... Ever see a 1996 S2-T (Gray Marchesini's), or a 1996 S1 (Silver Marchesini's)? I had to reference my Buell brochure collection to ensure my memory that there were some other-colored Marchesini's made. Referring back to my brochures, the 1997 brochure listed the wheels generically - just size without manufacturer ID, while the 1995 and 1996 brochures clearly identified the wheels as Marchesini's. The M2 in the 1997 brochure clearly shows a "M" on the front wheel, but it could have been an early prototype in the brochure. I really can't remember exactly when the switch was made to Castalloy's (I HATE it when other 'facts' had to populate a portion of my brain reserved for Buell knowledge, but to make room for some new info somethings got to go...), but it was definitely before the S1W's, as no S1W I know of ever came equipped from the factory with Marchesini wheels. My assumption is, as Diem24 is surmising, that these black Marchesini's are not the original wheels for the S1W in question. 1313
