Just wondering IF in the States did they made a xb12R in the low model with the Yellow rear spring and side stand? Or was the SCG model only available in the Lighting models..and this is more to do say with the 2004 and 2005 xb12R model years? |

The was no factory low Firebolt, but the low suspension bolts right on without issue. |

Hogs, there are a couple low models of the Lightning, but not the Firebolt. However, same chassis so the low parts can be swapped onto a Bolt. I lowered mine via forks, stand and shock from XB9SL. Before you buy new, try and find used or swap your "high" suspension with someone wanting to trade with their Low suspensions. I have pics if you want. I'm 5'3'' and can comfortably hold the ground with most of my feet. |

Nope. And yes you want the yellow rear spring. Get the sidestand, forks and yellow shock either from a SCG or XBSL model. |

I have always wanted to lower my firebolt. Does anyone have a list of the parts that need to be changed and part numbers? You think the parts are still available? |

If you want to swap, post up in the classifieds section as well. I ended up buying all new and spent close to $1000. Totally worth it though. And installation was free. Used the service manual, 2 30 packs of Bud Light and 5 of my buddies and my pops to put it in. Wasn't too hard. |

I saw in here that B00stzx3 said that he's 5'3" and can sit mostly flat footed on his SCG. I'm looking for a bike for my wife, who is 5'1" and currently on a Blast but is interested in a little more kick. I ride an 1125R and she can't even come close to tip toeing on mine. I'd like to hear any opinions anyone has about whether the bike might fit her. I found one on Craigslist but it's 3 hours away and didn't want to make the 6 hour round trip investment if it was a moot point. Thanks! |

@Gpcartky- yeah, I get most of my feet down in Axo Primato boots. Not completley flat footed..but 100% confident at stops, chillin in parking lot, wherever. I can send ya pics if ya'd like. @Dirty - cool mang. Just match the part numbers up. SCG or SL setups will work. If ya need help installing lemme know I did it with friends and the service manual. |

do you guys find the lowered suspension a bit rigid on your bikes? I've got the XB12Scg and I find it a bit rigid on less than perfect roads -- jointed concrete at highway speeds? forget it if I'm not shifting weight to my legs like a horse jockey over every bump. I'm compiling the parts list for pricing the swap to the XB12SX setup. I rode a friend's XB12Ss last week, and it's significantly more plush than my XB12Scg. just wondering what you're noticing with the reduced travel. |
