Finally finished the mods for the upcoming riding season, installed the Free Spirits slip on exhaust, EBR Race ECM, clear Taillight, Fender Eliminator, High Bar kit, Adjustable Mirrors and Flush Mount front signals....It is running fantastic, and sounds great too, definately not too loud, not too soft.

Pretty sure the FS exhaust doesn't need to be repacked. I would have a FS full system if it wasn't so expensive. I think the slip-on is around $1,100 or so? |

Those FS's with your color bike rocks! If only they made a version to fit the 08' colors, maybe blue rings instead of red and I would be buying, and what were they thinking of the nasty red spring on the 08's, looks great on yours. |

That's a hot looking machine. Love the red/black theme. The exhaust is making me drool. Nice. |

FS had some trouble with the cans towards the front turning color on these. Seems they've fixed that problem, but the red ring at the front will turn a light orange color over time... Mine has!!! |

I wonder how much it would cost to take the slipon version to a performance shop and get an X-pipe welded into that longer straight run. Then you'd have a ghetto version of the full system, at least you'll have a crossover for scavenging. Haha, look at me pretending to know what I'm talking about. That would help though, wouldn't it? Bike looks great BTW. That and the KEDA v3 and FMF full are the best looking pipes for the 1125 to date IMHO. |

I made an install video for my father in law that sold the system to me, at the end of the video is a brief sound clip after 6:00 minutes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l8YvyZrex2w The video had to be converted so the quality is degraded some. Hope it helps, by the way my father in law is looking to do a group buy to save on shipping, let me know if anyone is interested. Thanks |

HPE actually has the lowest deepest rumble from the options out there. It sounds like a v8 engine. Most of the tube videos are pretty bad,..i think there is one in which you can hear it better. Ill try to find the link. |

I would be in if FS could either do a black or a blue anodize instead of the red as that is the only thing holding me back, that red just wouldn't look great with the 08 colors. The black anodize at the front will turn a faded purple and the red will go orange due to the heat. Anodize is only about .0005" thick, a ceramic based hardcoat anodize which the base spec is .004" thick and more heat resistant. MIL-SPEC 8625, type 3, class 2 black is what you want. |

We could always just do them in silver, front and rear, I wish I would have done that now. I might take mine apart (It unbolts) and have it polished. |

>>>>installed the Free Spirits slip on exhaust, EBR Race ECM Very cool! . . and it doesn't surprise me. I have an engineer friend, who refuses to get into internet discussions, who recently read the account of one of the ERIK BUELL RACING ECM's having a problem. He did what I wanted to . . . he took 6 of them to a dyno, took a brand new (simply broken in bike) and went to work testing. His results were the same as yours and the most the reports I've read. Glad to hear it! Court |

+1 Court Very Pleased with my EBR ECM As far as the HPE exhaust , I agree with Mac , the HPE is very deep , rich sound , that does sound like a V8 , I think most cameras cant handle the BASS , and you will need a sub-woofer to even begin to duplicate the sound of the HPE . |

Court Quote **He did what I wanted to . . . he took 6 of them to a dyno, took a brand new (simply broken in bike) and went to work testing. ** Were these results posted anywhere? If they were, I must have missed them. I'm not trying to say the EBR ECM is bad or anything, just wondering about those dyno sheets. I just ordered an FMF exhaust last week and am trying to decide which route to go on the FI, Power Commander, EBR ECM or with Dris. Xbud, sorry for the small thread jack, Love those pipes!! |

Court.... thats good info to know...have any dyno sheets to post up? What were the mods to the test bike? Just out of curiousity what do you think was the issue with the one BAD ECM? |

>>>>Court.... that’s good info to know...have any dyno sheets to post up? My sense is that it was for comfort and confirmation only and no one felt any need to post anything. >>>>What were the mods to the test bike? I'm not exactly sure . . I got the thumbnail version while walking through a friends shop last weekend when I saw the 1125s in the brand new dyno room. I got the impression that a brand new 1125R, broken in per spec, was rolled into the dyno room for base line readings and then tests done with a variety of ECMs. >>>>Just out of curiosity what do you think was the issue with the one BAD ECM? No clue. I'm a construction worker. But I'm also a student of statistics and when a person posted that "all EBR stuff was garbage" my curiosity was piqued as to why none of the previous 200+ purchasers had registered any displeasure. Again . . . the exercise was more for personal comfort than to gather data for an internet sword fight. I had, and continue to have, full confidence in the EBR ECM. |

I still think that a ECM that belongs to a exhaust and is programmed on the dyno for that purpose gives the most pleasure for the dollar... ()-: |

My EBR race ECM has been delivered and I look forward to fitting it and the K&N filter this weekend, I have great expectations which have grown after reading all the posts on this forum, I ordered it in Feb but UK customs only just released it. Since over here we have to have the sidestand switch fitted Michael kindly modded the code so I can keep the functionality. |

Easyrider, you are right, an ECM is design for one package (exhaust, filter,...). This also means that your graph comparing your slip on and FS may not be fair unless both use own programed ECM's. |

Keep in mind the EBR ECU is using the O2 sensors, and can learn lean conditions and adjust. The same as the stock ECU |

1972rvbb, I always compare apples with apples in my sheets. The graph shows 2 slip-ons fully adjusted. Let's call it the final product made in the same dyno, with the same bike. with the same ECM. Xbud, When the individual cells and ignition cells, are not adjusted to the exhaust, You can never have a smooth and strong running bike. I agree that the 02 sensors will try to keep up, but it will be like walking on the moon. |
