By clutch fluid, where are you checking this to know it's cloudy and grey? |

My fluid is Black! I cant even see inside the res. And behind the puck it's filled with weeping fluid (clutch parts on Back order) But she still shifts the same as new. Do you have 5th and a half! I do. |

is the cloudy fluid an indicator of certain demise or will a non leaky bike with "the final fix fix" darken up the fluid too? |

In the Res window the fluid is a smoke grey color and is not as clear to see as the brake fluid |

Black clutch fluid is relatively common, even across brands of bikes. My Honda ST1300, the Buells, and every Duc I've known turns the clutch fluid black pretty quickly -- way more quickly than someone would expect. I finally gave up on keeping "clean" and just change it once or twice a year instead. |

I also have the black clutch fluid and Sportsteresque shifting between 1st-2nd. |

As long as your clutch action is correct -- the clutch is properly bled and functioning correctly -- a "sticky" shift usually indicates it's time to change the oil. I've seen lots of guys with hydraulic clutches think it was working normally when there was actually very little clutch pull. Normally, there's almost no slack in the clutch lever. However, if you can pull your clutch in a bit and then the level action gets suddenly more firm for the 2nd half of the travel -- it's time to bleed your clutch. The clutch on the 1125r is very firm -- it should not be an easy pull at all compared to a cable pull clutch on something like a 600. |

Jdugger, I actually just replaced my clutch fluid and the oil this weekend hoping it bring the shifting back to normal, but it didn't help. (Message edited by eweaver on March 31, 2010) (Message edited by eweaver on March 31, 2010) |

Interesting. Mine's usually super slick after an oil change. |

700 miles since last oil change. I had read somewhere that some 1125 owners experianced clutch failure shortly after the fluid went "Grey" |

I have read the same... Gone 800 miles on mine so far and the clutch still works the same. If I pull off the puck, a river of fluid pours out. |

Captain America time for new seals in the slave cylinder, or a warranty claim... |
