Some pictures of the bike with the modified sub-frame bolted back in. A bit of work but it wasn't just to make the rear storage compartment actually usable (from factory it holds a scooter sized tool kit and two sticks of gum). I am glad I did it but I have to say one of the motivations was my being offended by the engineering boobery. It looked to me like everything under the seats was just thrown in and then bolted to what ever it rubbed up against. I know I'm not going to gain a huge amount of storage space ..... It's never going to hold as much as the trunk of a Cadillac, but some rain gear and a pair of gloves would be nice. I will post more pics once I get a little further along. Tomorrow the solenoid goes back in.
Sorry, had some trouble with the pictures. Apparently they grow in size once you upload them.

on another note you've got to be hating the color of that back wheel every time you fire it up...

Lemme see if I have a shot of the "un-modified" subframe -

Top two were answering a question of "where is the regulator?"

I am pretty interested in how this goes. I am designing new bodywork for the rear from aluminum and I figured while I am in there, I should clean it up a bit. I agree that it looks like it was thrown together by the cleaning crew working a late night and it could be both cleaner and more compact as well as provide more storage.
