It has a small oil leak on the right side, very small. It has another leak from the clutch area and it is clutch fluid, again small but there none the less. The left front blinker is out. When I let the clutch out just a little the bike revs up a bit, weird? The idle is a bit high to me but????? Now the big thing is this, Ive only had it a week, bought it used, 9000 miles, I dont want to take it in under warranty because I just want to ride it, you know? What should I do?

clutch is weeping. Recall is out for it. Replaces it to the Rev B. Sounds like your clutch might need adjusted or might be due to the weeping. Thats all i can throw in

Isn't modern technology wonderful? It is to help you get off the line easier, you are less likely to stall.

I cant see how letting the clutch out could ever effect the throttle. It jumps a few hundred rpm's and it in the up range.

Chris you got those right.. but they'll replace it with a Rev C now instead of B, which will STOP the leak

The oil leak i cant say much about but if its small, then ride it! and let the dealer look at it when the do the Rev C

The idle rising is NORMAL ALL 1125's do it, so dont worry bout it and the high idle is NORMAL as well and dont worry bout it...

The blinker will be covered under warranty, so tell the dealer to order it with the clutch kit, and use hand signals for now (or not use ur best judgement)...

all in all just tell the dealer what u need and in the mean time...RIDE IT LIKE YOU STOLE IT!!!! these girls like it rough ; )

the rpm change when you let the clutch out is normal I've heard a few reasons why but who knows.(court.froggy?) also the turn signal is a recall warranty item also. Above all you just got a new bike from stem to stern. I had some growing pains right off because I was comparing it to my old XB. Its not. aside from the recall issues go ride the hell out of it and embrace the newness. by the way if none of the recalls were done might wanna see if the flash has been updated.
As for you not wanting to take it in to the dealer, Don't just go buy have them look at it and tell them to call you when the parts are in. as far as I know none of the recalls are life threating

Kickstand- if you have a clutch leak or any other problem that causes them to replace it you WILL get the C clutch, but it is NOT and authentic recall, it is not a requirement for the dealership to do it, more like an updated part.

the Rev C clutch is identical on apperance as the Rev B, however it has different internals and seals which prevent it from "weeping" (leaking)...but there is NO way to tell the difference between them on the outside...i belive the only 1125's that had the C were the 2010's..

Yes, the ECM controls your idle. It monitors your clutch position and RPM, and gives a little boost.

Hell the bike is gonna have to rev it to 5k to move from under you ass!

also the turn signal is a recall also.

clutch is weeping. Recall is out for it.

Prove it. There is no recall for either. If you have issues with them, they are covered under your 2 year warranty.

Absolutely nothing, there is no "C". When people talk about the clutch covers, the 2008 models came with one cover, the 2009 models came with a different one with a larger puck. It doesn't matter which cover you have, it may leak eventually. This is due to a problem with the piston and seal underneath the cover, not the cover itself.

Leaking 2008 (Rev A)

2009 (Rev B)

The only quick fix is to keep the fluid topped off. If you have the 2009 cover, you can rotate the puck 180 degrees so the hole is at the top, this will make it leak less.

I carry fluid with me everywhere I go. It runs out really fast, I have turned the puck upside down but it fills up inside and then squirts out. Basically I just need to bite it and take it to the dealer. But i dont want to for another week

Yea if yours is that bad, I wouldn't even ride it. My 08 has a slow leak, I just am topping off the fluid every 400 miles or so. I will get it taken care of eventually.

Good stuff Froggy -

The "fix" is a kit, p/n X2086.1AM - piston/liner kit.
I had to boil my puck for a minute or so in a pot of water to get the adhesive to release and turn the Pegasus so he's right-side-up with the weep-hole at the top.
The pic above is my Loretta.

I have popped the puck off a couple of times since getting "the fix" and all is dry under there.

I had a constant tiny dribble for 20k+ miles.
In that time I topped off the fluid 2 or 3 times only.

Thanks for clarifying everything Froggy. They were driving me nuts talking about recalls for the clutch cover and blinkers, etc. Almost punched my computer in rage. I need a beer.
