I've got the fairing kit on my 1125R that melted to the pipe as many of them did. It was part of the vehicle when purchased new and is registered on the vehicle SOR, SCR (SP?) and my local dealer is now telling me that it might not be covered even though they told me last winter it would be. My purchasing dealer told me EVERYTHING was covered on the 2 year warranty including the fairing kit. Does anyone with dealership connections know the real story here? If the locals decide to be a$$holes and not honor the warranty what's the best course of action? thanks much! superdave |

My dealership recently replaced the exhaust side lower for me after it warped from melting. I would assume it's covered but my experience does not necessarily create a precedent. |

Mine was also just covered under warranty...if they installed it, they replace it. Call HD customer service yourself or find another dealer |

Mine (J&L Harley in Sioux Falls) is telling me that Harley is sending the fairing but I have to pay for labor or put it on myself!!! grrr They said that since I came in and had it looked at last November it can be covered because that was before a late November bulletin came out that they say tells them NOT to cover these fairings under warranty. Do we have any HD/Buell dealers on the forum that can tell me the truth one way or another please? It seems like I'm getting taken for a ride here. thanks! superdave |

Put the fairings on yourself, do it right and forget about it..... My 2 cents.. |

They installed it, they should cover the cost of the replacement, labor and all. I would either find a better dealership and/or escalate the issue to corporate. |

Mine were already installed when I bought the bike. Yes it melted in 2 places since then. If you cant get satisfaction from the dealer you bought from try 1 another dealer or 2 call the HD customer service line. I did both and today I was called by the service manager of the dealership Id prefer to work with. Not only is the fairing in, but so is my clutch cover. Thats taking care of your customer base. I really love everything about this bike but the HD attachment. The idiot HD employee that pointed to my bike and called it a rice rocket did it for me. I dont see any new HD bikes flying out of the showroom so I hope the service shop and the bandana dept keep them afloat. |

same here. i was told "this is one of those issues that will continue due to flawed design." T.E.A.M. BUELL. I have however put some washers on the inside of the fairing to push it away from the pipe. THE EXPERIMENTAL AMERICAN MOTORCYCLE |
