JUST INSTALLED A SET OF CLEARWATER "GLENDA" LED AUX LIGHTS ON 2010 XB12X AND THEY ARE EXCELLENT. I HAVE LOOKED AT MANY OPTIONS AND ALL PRICE RANGES. THESE ARE NOT CHEAP BUT ARE GREAT. THEY ARE ADJUSTABLE AND ALSO TIE IN TO YOUR 'FLASH TO PASS' SWITCH.} |

Any issues with adding LED lights to the ULY? voltages, blickers flashing to fast, etc? Can you wire them to the daytime running lights? such that they are always on? Thx (Message edited by mattmcc00 on March 30, 2010) |

Thesmax I ordered mine directly from Clearwater http://www.clearwaterlights.com/ I sent some emails and exchanged some phone calls with Glenn Stasky, the president of the company. Seems like a good guy and knowledable on lights. Mattmcc00 No issues, they draw very little voltage. They are designed to be on all the time. XBimmer They actually controlled with a dimmer switch. So you have 100% control on the brightness. You can also wire it in to your high beam (thats an optional part), so when you hit the high beam, the LEDS go to 100%.. back to low beam they return to where you had them The beam on this light is not meant to shine way down the road like a focused driving light. But they still do a good job lighting up the road. They are working on a true driving light.... The quality is excellent! |

I asked this before about the other brand (sold through Twisted Throttle), so I'm curious about these. How's the actual throw of light on he road. I can appreciate the value of being seen, but in the dark mountain roads in Colorado during deer season, I really want some serious illumination 25 or more yards up the road. How do these function in this regard? Thanks. A- |

They do pretty good for me....of course when I put my High beams on I have both headlights on and the LED's @100%. So, just remember, these lights are not really intended for the purpose of throwing light way down the road. ClearWater is working on an LED for exactly that (a true driving light with a more narrow beam spread).... give them a call, they were more than willing to talk to me back in Nov. IIRC I do think they have the specs on the spread etc on their web site... just have to poke around a bit. |

$399? EG and Mike among others like their 30-40 total cost setups. They are cool, but I'd have to get them real "hot" to pay for um. |
