We had a buttload of rain. I shoulda woulda coulda moved my bike onto the hard...but no. It's still too dark to see all the damage but because I parked the bikes close together it slid into the X-1 on the way down and scratched the crap out of the airbox cover, front fairing, tailpiece. And it broke the 1125r mirror. I already replaced that mirror once. Man I am getting sick of all this rain. The damage is entirely my fault. I've been under the weather and just didn't feel like leaving the house all weekend. It's been between 30-50 and raining nonstop for two days. The ground is all soft now... I hope I did not damage the Millenium...I guess I'll find out sometime later today. No time now. |

Well it was not as bad as I first thought. A little Novus and some polish and the scratches will be about gone. Still gotta find a mirror. |

There is a special place in hell reserved for people who leave nice bikes out in the weather. At least get a good cover--that'll earn you purgatory instead of the old h e double hockey sticks. |

Well my X-1 has survived a decade out in the weather. It's cost me a lot of extra maintenance but that's the way it goes. I wish I had a garage...but the only flat ground is occupied by the house. Funny thing about mountains...they are pointy at the top and tend to slope downwards from there. I do agree I require some additional punishment for such a rookie mistake. I could have at least put a piece of wood under the kickstand right? Don't worry about the weather taking a toll on the 1125r. I ride it too often for anything to wear out that way. And I do have covers...nice ones. But that doesn't help when I come back from a ride in the rain. |
