Hey Guys; So I purchased KENT MOORE J-41623-B Oil line removal tool. This is the same tool as in the service manual, however I cannot get the tool to fit over the lines. I.D. of the tool is 3/8", O.D. of the lines is 1/2". Funny thing here, the service manual has a pic of the tool, which is clearly stamped "3/8". What am I doing wrong, do I actually need a 1/2" tool, anyone used this tool and or removed their cooler , please let me know, I'm confused  Thank you! | ||

Yep, you need a tool that'll close over a 1/2" line. You can take a pick and pop the clip off, remove the line, then put the clip back in the fitting before you snap the line back on. Be careful that you don't stretch the clip and lose it's grip on the line. | ||

Is there a 1/2 Kent Moore tool out there. Have been hammering google on this one and cannot find the correct tool. On a separate thought, could I simply remove the fitting with a wrench??? It seems this tool is meant to pull the oil lines from the fitting, leaving the fitting on the cooler, if I can simply address the fitting then I am good (new lines came with fittings...) | ||

But actually popping the clip carefully off is easier,really, just don't loose it.. | ||

Do you see a problem with simply wrenching the fitting off the cooler??? |
