After eight totally enjoyable seasons riding the first Firebolt sold in Binghamton NY, I have decided to upgrade my iron steed. Upon the consideration of many makes and models suited to my tastes, I've opted with loyalty, and kept to my roots as a dedicated Bueller. As a fan of Erik Buell and Erik Buell Racing ( http://www.erikbuellracing.com/ ), I am pleased to be taking delivery of a 2009 1125R. Producing 146hp in the Helicon 72 degree V-Twin motor, in a feather light 375lb chassis, it will certainly provide a spirited experience and without doubt, an ear to ear grin beneath the Arai. I can't wait!} |

I hate to ask, but how much did they charge you for the bike? |

Well, the bike I purchased is new to me but not brand spanking new. It still has a little over 1 year left of warranty coverage and has 1900 miles on it. I paid $7500. To me it seemed a fair price knowing these originally listed for over 12K. When I bought my XB9R back in Oct. of 01 I paid $9999 so by comparison I think I got a lot of bike for the money. Are there better deals out there? Possibly so, but I wanted the white model and from what I've learned these bikes are getting harder and harder to find. Call me sporadic but once I made up my mind I acted. Unfortunately I was unaware that Buell was offering rebates a couple months ago of $5000 on these bikes and had I known, would have probably bought then. A day late and a dollar short...the story of my life...lol! |

Hey Firebolt, I bought a Buell From southern Tier a 2006 xb9s, love it. I still have it and last October bought a 2009 1125r white from Horsepower HD in williamsport PA. I like that dealer a lot better, but thats my opinion. Where did you get the bike from? I live In Elmira, we'll have to try and get together for a ride. I only have about 70 miles on the new bike, it was cold when I bought it and I haven't had a chance to get it out yet. |

Nice purchase! I love the look of the white and blue, but I couldn't pass up on $5200 for an '08 with less than 1k miles. Hope you enjoy the bike as much as I do. Although I haven't figured out if my love for this bike comes from riding it or dreaming up the million things I can do to it. Maybe the sportbike rider course I am taking through MSF and the military will bring my confidence level up to par with the power of this beast! |

for the most part we all love ours too, and that is a fair price for such a fine motorcycle. Coming from a 2003 xb9r myself I will tell you it's night and day performance difference engine wise but it will take a small bit of getting used to moving it around in comparison too your xb. Have your suspension set for your weight it really matters. congrats. |

I'm really looking forward to riding my 1125R, and rekindling my participation on this awesomely informative website. Like I said, I really wanted the white model and like Froggy said, there are none anywhere close that I could find (and at this point only a couple in the country according to Buell's website, if accurate). I could dwell on the fact cheaper 1125's could be had, but the coulda, woulda, shoulda reasoning does me no good. This is an investment in fun, and all said and done, I'm a winner! As mentioned, I'm extremely pleased with what I got and that's all that matters. I actually bought the bike on eBay from Seaville Motorsports in Seaville NJ. Certainly I would have been happy and I had hoped to buy cheaper, but I really wanted this and bid accordingly. I didn't want to risk losing the auction by $100 and then not being able to find what I wanted. Skizzy- Drop me a private message with your phone and/or email and we'll definitely hook up. Two friends I ride with own a Ducati 848 Nicky Haden replica and the BMW S1000RR....it'll will be a riot to intimidate them with American prowess! ..LOL!! |

I saw this thread on my phone while at work today. My first Buell was a White/Blue 2003 XB9R. I traded it to my little brother, who happens to be staying with us for a few months so we can ride together. Here's a shot of us at his place in Texas -
And one from a cold ride in the hills here -
Enjoy the ride, but hang on... the XB dyno'd 78 HP with the race ECM and can, Loretta does 128 HP......... Zack |

Hey Firebolt XB9R I also just went from an 03 XB9R to a leftover 08 1125R a few weeks ago. I liked the the XB9R so much I sold it to my good friend and riding partner. So I could still ride my old bike when I wanted to. If you like the XB9R that much you will love the 1125R. Good luck with the new bike..... |

Binghamton! I bought my first bike there too, xb12s. Still have it, LOVE it. But I am also thinking of selling it and upgrading. I am leaning towards ( don't hate me! ) the bmw s1000rr. But....if I come across a good 1125r I'll snag it up. Wish me luck, I'll be in NC in May and plan on hitting a lot of shops along the way. |
