I was down at JCI a couple of weeks ago. Everything was cool. I hung out with a cop for about an hour. He said as long as you are in JCI's parking lot you are cool. They want the bikes there. RR my number is 832-216-1792. |

Still sore. Feels like someone took a bat and beat the hell out of my legs. I could not get out of bed Monday morning. The bike is OK, lots of minor issues, I have to replace the turn signals, & ect.....I'm really lucky, damage to me and the bike could have been a lot worse. Thankfully there was a hugh grass landing area. I'll be up and ready by the weekend. Wife was OK, I made her family function at noon. I had a knot the shape of a tennis ball pop up on my leg wile we were there, gave me an excuse to leave early. |

I'm hoping that my bad influences didn't rub off on anyone Saturday and cause anyone to do something silly like wheelie off into the ditch... |

We were on 3090, doing just a little under the speed limit, admiring the flowers and wildlife. As I approached a turn, a young deer wondered into my path, to avoid hitting the deer, I had to run off of the road and lay the bike down in a patch of wild flowers.......I don't think my wife fell for it either !! Lets just say I stood the bike up in a turn, did some off roading, and finally came to a resting spot about 20 feet off of the road. I am very lucky that there is not more damage to myself and the bike. When I look back at it, I put the blame on too much speed into the corner. I layed it down in a ditch with lots of grass and dirt. Very lucky ! One lesson I have learned is you can never have too much riding gear on. My Joe Rocket Jacket was full of dirt. My helmet has a few scratches, and I have a few cuts on my knee through my jeans. Unfortunatly I was wearing three quarter high hiking boots, and both of my ankles are paying the price. I will buy some full lenth riding boots soon. Leason learned.....Slow down !! |

Glad you're OK! I could show you scars that resulted from over-exuberance in my youth. Now that I'm "experienced" (and I've got the AARP card to prove it!) I am much more subdued in my application of throttle! r-t |

Brent, glad to see that you still have all the parts that God gave you, and gald to hear the Mrs is okay too!! Your lesson learned should be a wake up call for us all. To many idiots riding with T-shirt and tennis shoes that think their bodies are made of Kevlar. I like Road Thing have the scars to prove it's not. |

I ride in a tank top, shorts and tennis shoes. I'm immortal...so far. Actually, even in the nastiest part of the summer, I'm in full gear ALWAYS. I see kids running around in beach wear and a helmet on their sportbikes, and the only thing that comes to mind is a perfectly preserved head a few feet down the road from a large bloody stripe. |

Brent, Hope I didn't get you in trouble yesterday. If you need any help e-mail me or give me a call at 832-515-1351. I'm putting those grips on my Ninja right now. Air hose trick is working better than usual. Clutch side damn near jumped off the bar while making very impolite noises |

White, I had the grips on in about 20 minutes, thanks for the advise. I have new grips, turn signals, front and back. Buffed the scratches, polished the pipe....She looks good as new. |

Cool, good to hear it. I decided to safety wire mine and they're so solid that I'll be wiring grips from now on. Don't even have to wait for the water to dry. Took about 5 minutes. Working on new bar ends now. The stock steel ones were starting to rust and look like hell, and I have some 1.5" 6061 bar sitting around, so I'll just play with the lathe for a bit. Roadrunr, The TSBA guys are going on a ride northeast of Houston starting at noon sharp at Hickory Hollow off I10. Chris promised to stop for those of us that only get 125 miles to a tank, too |
