I just got my GPS in, it is a Tomtom Rider 2. It came with a RAM mount and wire to hardwire it to the bike. 2 questions. First which side of the handle bar should I mount it to? Also where should I wire it to? I would like it to go through a relay so it turns off when the bike is off. Oh and the bike is a 2009 Buell XB12scg. Thanks in advance. |

Your call, which ever works best for you.

Under the flyscreen is an accessory jack. You can tap into that to get power, its fused and ECM controlled, so it wont power up if the bikes voltage is too low or if the kill switch and/or key is off. |

How do I identify the accessory jack? Thanks Froggy. |

Just remove the dummy plug. Nice thing is, its the same connector that the Ulysses cigarette outlet uses, so you can pick up one of them for $15 and splice the hell out of that instead of messing with the main wiring harness. |

Y0198.1AK SOCKET, CIGARETTE LIGHTER W/HARNESS You can just stuff it under you flyscreen, or you can get creative and mount it to the flyscreen brackets like on this CR

Ok... Dumb question here, but does the 12R's have the same aux plug hanging out up front somewhere? |

Yes all 08+ fuel injected Buell's, and all 06+ Uly's. Older models will require splicing but the connector can be added. |

I like my GPS on the left side of the bars, so it's easier to use with my non-throttle hand. |

10 amp, its fused under "accessory" in your fuse box. 10 amps is plenty for electronics. |

hey froggy I was in a truck stop the other day and noticed they had a slow cooker that plugs into the aux plug. Next time you take a long trip you could strap it down and put on a pot roast. |

Anyone know where i can get the Y0198.1AK SOCKET, CIGARETTE LIGHTER W/HARNESS? Just bought a GPS unit but need to get some power to it on the bike. I have a 08 XB12R and i am planning on using the accessory jack under the front end of the bike. |
