It came from American Sport Bike. They have different center covers for them in some different color options, comes with spun aluminum, the bright red metallic was a gift that matched my bike perfectly.

I'm not sure the manufacturer, maybe Crossroads

The pictures don't do it justice, it looks even different in the sun. I think with a set of black plastics it will make the frame stand out even more.

Lookin good almost finished!
I'm not a big fan of the touring S3 bars but I can see Ulys bars or some red alum dirt bike bars on that Beast!

I do like the bars more than the stock X1 bars because they're more comfortable when riding for longer rides but I'll agree that they look a little off on the X1. They were on there when I bought it so they may end up coming off at some point for a different bar.

I have the same bars on my X1. Comfortable for me. You don't really notice them once you have the windscreen on.

I had an electrical problem but figured it out and I got it running finally. About all I have left is to put the intake on, all the plastics, the lights and she's ready to go.

Does the clutch cable have threads on it and screw in where it goes into the primary? There is an o-ring there but I can't get it to screw in if it indeed does need to. I do know that it is leaking there.

There are pretty fine thread on the clutch cable that screw into the primary (as least on my M2). You have to be careful not to bung the threads. Put a new O-ring on the cable side before threading in and that should stop the leak.

I thought there were threads but I can't get the threads to start. It's almost like I can't compress the o-ring enough for the threads to catch. Any tips??

You shouldnt have to compress the oring to thread it though. If i recall correctly, its been a while since i had mine off.

Quick question. I picked up a 1999 X1 a few years ago and the seller tossed in a set of extra touring bars. I finally picked up some new hand grips and am ready to swap them out. The big question is, will I have to get new throttle, brake & clutch cables? Does anyone know if the stock ones will fit with the touring bars?

hmmm, I would have said they won't fit but a quick look in the 99 pars books for X1 and S3 reveal the same part numbers for the cables... So it seems it will fit.

The bars I have on mine are the touring bars and the cables all reach with extra to spare.

Switched mine about a year ago. You have to cut a few cable ties for the wiring to have room to breathe but otherwise you are good to go.
