I guess i am kinda affraid to purchase a $400(min) pipeand not like how it sounds or run into some problems then be stuck with it. I dont usually have a passenger but to take one from time to time. |

Have a quick look at through some of the threads using the search function. There are quite a few to choose from ranging from under $400 through to around $2k.. A few folk have bought Barkers (as have I) and swear by them (I am probably biased). There are a few videos on here and on youtube too. |

Sneakr, The Question you should ask yourself first is, what do i look for. Torque in a pipe is what you like and search for, That makes the 1125R a real fun bike, now the question comes, would you like it at LOW RPM mid RPM or HIGH RPM. |

The FMF is best with a passenger |

Eh? Do you mean having a passenger makes the pipe better or do you mean it's the best pipe available if you carry a passenger? How did you come to that conclusion? |

i just put a jardine rt5 carbon slipon on my 09 cr. the only thing ive heard about them is the packing burns out of them around 5000 kms. it has a great throaty sound to it. i noticed a great increase of mid range power. the passenger probably wont like it to much, but hey its not what the passenger thinks that counts. eh! |

Anybody know of any good deals at the cheaper end of the market at the moment? I'm thinking of an FMF/Jardine/HMF or maybe a Barker. |

Barker seems pretty good at the low end of the spectrum but I like Keda-Design all stainless designs a lot. Dean Adams of Keda is custom making three different designs and they are all very competitive in price. Do a search for his many pictures and dyno runs. Very impressive. Bob |

+1 to the Dean Adam's pipes. I got mine on yesterday, so far I am in love.

Anyone know anything about keeping the look of the stock 1125r exhaust while getting the performance and sound of an aftermarket exhaust? Reason being, I like the look of the stock canister but I don't like the small stainless tips and I want something that will allow the bike to be have more torque. Also, I want to be heard on the freeway or anywhere else someone might want to run me over.... |

Maybe a stock canister with the pipe of an R1 or something similar. |

Short of totally gutting the stock pipe, you will not get it anywhere near the volume of an aftermarket pipe. I've done mods to the stock pipe for volume and it is louder by quite a bit, but compared to anything else out there, it wasn't even close. The way the stock can is designed, it's tough to get really good thump out of it without doing major damage to the performance. I did it and got decent results, but it's not enough to really be heard on the highway at speed except by yourself. Riding it with earplugs is almost like riding the stock exhaust without them. Videos of the stock pipe modified are at the bottom of the list somewhere. http://www.youtube.com/user/deanadams1969 |

I got a Drummer recently and am very, very happy with it. It's expensive, but worth every penny.

I bought an HMF on Ebay. They have good deals packaged with a K&N Air filter. I like the sound, and it feels stronger, but it is probably my imagination. My EBR ECM is arriving on Monday, and it should run stronger and smoother. Have not been on a dyno. BTW it is way lighter than stock too! |

Thanks D adams, I appreciate the information. I guess I will continue to look around. I just want something that fills the belly in like the stock exhaust does. Thats really my only hangup on the whole exhaust thing. |

Hey S1125, how'd you get your header pipes so polished? I spent a good 45 minutes with fine grit wet sanding, scotch bright pads, and Mother's mag polish and can't get anything close to that. What's your process? |

Closest thing to filling in similar to stock is the TH from Easyrider (Dris) http://www.twinmotorcycles.nl/webshop/artikel.asp? guid=YXHFSC&aid=2707&cid=9669&s=&a |

Jeepinbueller, both my headers and the collector/midpipe are coated with Jet-Hot Sterling. I got the headers from Al at American Sportbike and Kevin from Drummer sent me the midpipe without treating it so I could send it off. Both Al and Kevin are top notch guys, can't recommend buying from either one of them enough. |

HEre is a graph off stock versus torque hammer, with the same stock ECM.
