Those look nice but are'nt cheap. I found that because of the flat shape of the stock seat, if I lower my pegs, it starts cutting off my legs blood circulation a little on longer rides. | ||

I got the Hiway pegs for long hiway trips just to stretch the legs out on. I like the standard pegs w/the lowered seat on my 06 Uly for twisting, winding roads etc. 32" inseam | ||

Let us know what you think blackdog. I may put these on my uly as well. i wonder if it will affect shifting and braking seeing as your feet will be 1" lower? | ||

I put both the tall '06 seat and the 2" lower foot pegs (1" more than stock) from Precision Engineering on my Uly. This helped to relieve the knee pain I had on longer rides. I do not have any problem shifting or using the rear brake. | ||

I also run the tall seat and the 2" lower foot pegs. I cut 1/4" off the brake linkage rod to get my pedal low enough (I like my rear brake lower than most). Much easier going from sitting to standing and no more slippery foot feeling, but my legs get colder in the mornings being less bent, and they vibrate a little more than stock. | ||

Od-cleaver and Bikelit...what are your respective inseams? One of the key appeals to my Uly was sitting upright with legs down and lordotic curve properly curved to allow discs to stack naturally and absorb shock. How these guys ride cruisers with legs forward, rounded low backs (and maybe a hardtail) is beyond me and my 60 years of testosterone poisoning. I would like to drop my legs even more...I cannot quite flat foot with the tall seat but I think there is more comfort in my femur dropping farther. I am 34" inseam. | ||

Badrap-They are from one of our sponsors here. Palmer Products. He is a very good fellow. Respsonsive and makes good products. I only use the pegs when I am on a long ride and stuck on superhiways. They do provide a good stretch for the legs. I used to have to throw my leg over the frame puck once in awhile on those long stretches of super slab. I would get them again, eventhough my friends sort of hassle me about getting more Hardleyish, but watching them squirm around and using passenger pegs etc. they are more into form over function. As a Uly person I am more into function over form. | ||

Eulysses, That is sort of a personal question, but here goes.... Just under 36", stocking feet, crotch to the floor. Pants, 32" to 34", depending on the style and where I want them to hang. I can flat foot the Uly, but that might be because the Uly is still supporting some of my weight. I also have the Rox 2" risers. | ||

Eulysses, I hope your Arizona trip is going well. Ah, as I sit here in front of my computer, bolt upright with a good lumbar support it is good to see someone else concerned with keeping that Lordosis! Good man. I was surprised to see that you couldn't flat foot with a 34" inseam because I have the tall seat, with a sheepskin cover, and I can easily flatfoot with my 34" inseam. I then remembered, and checked to be sure(lol), that you have an 'X'. It must be fun getting your leg over that beast with all the bags on! I have to be careful and really get my leg up to get on mine. BTW, just a quick update: The lowers are doing their job and I like this bike more EVERY time I ride it! Take care. Od_cleaver...pants are the usual indicator of inseam for most of us...the other measurement you described really hurts my head.  When you say you flat foot...low seat or high? I have the rox risers too...clutch cable unhooked from the handlebar and ride in sandals or tennies (I know...). Guessing we have the same inseam...so it looks like the 2" vs the one inch will be a winner for me. You think? OOPS...edit here...I see you are only a 1" drop from stock and do have the high seat. Somehow I was thinking that the pegs added 2" but see now only and inch. I have the rear shock turned up to max as we are two up most the time...might affect my reach too. So the real question is...do you wish you could drop your pegs more? Bueller! Glad you are loving it. Me too...AZ was great fun and with the Princess's restrictions on ride time I did not get the miles in...maybe 650. Did Tortilla Flat run out of Phoenix...bunch around Yuma and Tucson. I think I could live there all winter. Back in NW now...almost home. I still have the Memphis Shades on and added two 5x12 strips down both sides of the main windscreen actually covering the front signal lights. I did this because the "hold off" of the Palmer and stock windscreen mount out in front of the Memphis Shades caused a hole...and the Shades were forcing air up and into the driver's area shaking my helmet. I felt it with my hand...and the drop extensions have nailed it. I will build a screen ala Ettenually's fix for winter riding. Next winter! Eulysses, Sorry about the headache. The lower pegs and the high seat gave me the improvements that I was looking for. I do not need anything else in this area. I see that you are working thru problems with your wind management. I just added Madstad Engineering's adjustable windshield system to the Uly. The improvement (150 miles test ride) has been remarkable. Up to 70+ mph the turbulent air is above my helmet. I still need to ride in some strong cross winds and follow some semi trucks under different conditions before I give Madstad 100% endorsement. I used the same Parabellum windshield before and after the Madstad change. |
