I'm thinking of putting a Ulysses windscreen on my XB9SX. I know it's been done, but I've never heard the results. (as far as wind protection) Anyone care to comment? Here's a link to one mod. http://web.me.com/tscentral/Motorcycles/XB_Windscr een.html |

Send Froggy a PM, he converted his XB12SS into a ULY. He can give you a wealth of info... |

Two ways to do it, either swap in the Ulysses fairing brackets like that above link, or buy the kit from Badweb sponsor Palmer Products that will drill the stock flyscreen and mount adjustable brackets to that will fit any Uly windshield. http://www.palmerproducts.co.uk/ I have done it both ways, they both work fantastic |

I won't bother with pics of the Ulysses conversion, as it looks like a Ulysses! The palmer brackets on the XB is nice You PMed me about the wind and stuff. Two issues, the bike hasn't looked like that in over a year, so I don't remember. Another issue, there is a dozen factors including how tall you are and how tall the windshield is. Your best bet is to get something like that adjustable setup I used that way you can tweak it to your own preferences. It is compatible with pretty much every Uly windshield, so you can go bigger/smaller depending on your needs. |

Ive got the Uly flyscreen on my XB9SX. I simply drilled 4 holes in the uly flyscreen and mounted it with the existing hardware. Cheaper and easier to do than swapping out everything. Works great, looks great, and much better wind protection. Thinking of trying out a Uly tall windscreen and see how I like that vs. the stocker. Here are some pictures of how it looked with the ZG Touring windscreen, and now with the Uly windscreen. Don't have any real good distance shots of the bike with the Uly setup yet. |

I did the complete Uly swap for my Scg. I do a lot of highway riding and the stock lightning front wasn't working for me (or the lightning seat for that matter!) With the Uly front with the stock screen the wind hits your shoulders as before it hit me right in the lower chest/stomach. The wind protection is 100% better and I enjoy riding the bike on the highways now. I also added crossroad bar to lower my rider stance as well. I prefer the stock look of the swap. Here are some photos...
