Sorry to be so blatant... but I went into a sportbike shop today to look at some luggage options and sat on some sportbikes while I was there. It was then that I realized the 1125s have a seat that is kind tight in the male parts section. Any good suggestions to fix this issue? I eventually want to use my bike for some long-distance adventure rides, so comfort is paramount. |

Duct tape? Not sure how old you are but once I hit 40-ish my sack definitely starting swinging...I guess it's just life I mounted a Touring seat on my bike and although I still have a sagging scrote-bag it's not so much of an issue anymore. Funny thing is my first post about ten years ago in the X-1 forum asked the same question "Is this the right place to post about sitting on your balls?" lol Maybe a quick soak in some alum salts? |

Buy a touring seat (if you can afford/find one) or get yours reprofiled... The rider's seat is not particularly anotomically friendly, swap out the foam for some memory foam, maybe a gel pack in the middle and have it recovered.. The XB seats are the same fitment (well, close enough) so pick up a second hand one and have that reprofiled so you're not off the road.. (Message edited by jules on March 24, 2010) |

I hear a lot of people saying this, but have not experienced it. Is this mostly from people who are shorter? I am 6'2", and I have never come close to the front of the seat to where it would effect my man parts. In fact, my complaint would be when I get low, I hit the back of the seat. I am just curious if this is due to a rider's height, or a rider's style of riding. |

Here we go again.... Take the seat to an upholsterer, auto is fine. Just have them remove the cover and toss it. Just have them trim the foam thickness so it's the SAME thickness from rear to the front, starting about 2" from the back...foward to the radius in the seat pan. When they get to the two little ribs in the pan form as small a radius as they can and go up to the top of the seat pan to about 1-1/2" from the top and leave the last inch and a half of the foam uncut. Then trim/radius all the new corners left so that are nice and round...look good...feel good... Then make a two piece cover so any glue doesn't come loose down the road and look like crap. Wha-la....room for the family jewels, a "MUCH" more comfortable seat. And no....I don't have any pictures. It's easy once you think about it. Just take a look at ANY Japanese sport bike seat. Check the "angle" of the part that you sit on. I've said before...the Buell seat designers musta been women...! They can rotate their torso up that tilted seat pad without crushing anything... Mike |

Lycra type wicking bike shorts. Pricey but snug and dry. Cool in summer, warm in winter. Under shirt too. Both work well with protective gear IMHO. |

I had testicular cancer and had one of my boys removed and I gotta tell ya it's notably more comfortable while riding. Don't have to pull a glove off while riding to squeeze in ma jeans to re-adjust near as often. just sayin... |

I have a KTM450excr I setup as a motard, too much fun but after 45 mins my balls go numb, like from the vibe. Gets tingly in a bad way, like your leg falling asleep. So on one bike if I shift, I sit on them, on the other they go numb. Hmm, maybe that's why the bike is "fun as balls". |

The touring seat made a difference for me on longer rides... the stock seat used to make me numb in that area... of course i did find that with the stock seat, scooting back helped a little. a friend of mine has a baldwin seat and i must say, thats a nice piece of art and seems very comfortable.. |

Reducati "ride an s1" with a slightly built up seat on my s1 of thirteen years, the CR has a very comfortable seat in comparison. the CR tank is wider than s1 frame so hugging the CR tank is working new thigh and hip muscles. Hugging the s1 is easy. The s1 pegs are lower which makes using those muscles in general easier. think 'core posture' for balance with the balls of your feet on the pegs, elbows in and hands floating on controls. People hold their breath under stress. This effectively stops oxygen delivery to your muscles. When that happens they naturally scream back in pain. Try various breathing patterns while riding to force more oxygen into your system. |
